i sometimes have problems seeing if the autopilotbuttons are engaged or not dependent of how the light shines into the cockpit. Does anyone know how i can repaint or reconfigure the color of the buttons so i can get a clearer difference on engaged or not?

Check out/Search the Sharkpit mod... This will help your see the AP lights better.. LWS lights are much easier to see also.. ;)

You can also re-paint them yourself. Download some cockpit mod, extract it (rar) and check the files structure. You can also use CDDS extractor bundled with the ModMan application.
