davebert Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I bought Lock On on a cd for my step dad and we tried it on his 64 bit Win 7 pc and it crashes even in XP compatibility mode. I was going to buy him Flaming Cliffs 2.0 and was wondering if that will work good on that system and also be all I need to buy?? I don't have FC 1.x but from what I read I don't think I need it but want to be sure. Also, being it is download only for US market, can it be re-downloaded in the event of a computer failure or can it be put on DVD or something? Thanks, db
Kuky Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) FC2 works fine on Windows 7, could be many reason for game crashes, look on these forums for some clues why and other than that if you have original LockOn you're fine for downloading and installing FC2, which once you purchase you can download as many times as you like (you pay for serial key, not download) Edited May 29, 2010 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
winz Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I have big stability problems with Lomac on vista 32 bit, the game crashes randomly all the time. But FC 2.0 is rock stable, no problems or crashes with it. And yes, you can burn it all on DVD, no problem. The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3
JaBoG32_Prinzartus Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 fc2 works fine with win7 64, fyi Windows 10, I7 8700k@5,15GHz, 32GB Ram, GTX1080, HOTAS Warthog, Oculus Rift CV1, Obutto R3volution, Buttkicker [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ЯБоГ32_Принз
Robin_Hood Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 With Vista or Seven, be careful not installing it in Program Files, seems to be issues with that folder ;) Apart from that, a lot of people run FC2 (or 1) on Vista/Seven with no problem 2nd French Fighter Squadron
davebert Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 Thanks for all the replies...we got the game downloaded and installed and purchased. Looks good. Now I want to install it on my XP Pro pc and hope it will do as good as Win7 64 bit. I have a question though before I do. My drive is almost full and I need to replace it. I noticed on my step dad's pc it said he had 7 activations or something like that. If I install it so we can try to play (as he is on vacation visiting here now), and I change my drive to a larger one, do I lose an activation and what does it mean when you use them all? Can you put the game on more than one personal computer or just the original one and then it has to be deactivated to re-activate on the same or another pc? I want to buy it but don't want to waste an activation if I change my drive in the next few weeks. Thanks, db
davebert Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 We found the section on activations so that has been cleared up...I guess I will try to install it to my "D" drive as there is plenty of room there and hope it works alright as that is a fairly new WD Caviar Black 1TB drive but my 250GB "C" drive only has about 20GB Free and thats not even enough to run defrag on....:D Thanks, db
