Greetings my fellow virtual pilots!

I recently set up VoxATC on my computer, to go along with Microsoft's FSX. The TTS voices I have are not very loud in comparison with FSX sounds, and sometimes they are almost silent. I know I can adjust FSX sounds lower, but I have some add-on aircraft with sound files that do not respond to the volume sliders in FSX. I also know that I can choose which device VoxATC and FSX output sound to. I was thinking that adding a cheap sound card (I currently use integrated audio only) would allow me to continue to use the integrated sound for FSX and send the VoxATC sound to the card, thus allowing me to control the volumes separately through two sets of speakers.

Any thoughts on this setup?

I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!"

Sounds Iffy

I've tried doing similar before for a multitude of reasons, bottom line- sound cards don't like to coexist, especially in a gaming atmosphere-

As with all things, your mileage may vary- I would just stress you don't get your hopes up:)

Thanks, DrGonzo.

Anyone else have any input?

Ok it is posible to have both cards runing one game the other team speak or what ever...now there is other solution with only one card, and it is Realtek which have digital output in optical way. My set up is, that game is going on optical cable to the amplifier, and teamspeak or skype is going on classic way, with headsets red and green input on motherboard. I hope this help a bit, cheers S!

Thanks, but I don't have an optical out on my computer, I only have the integrated sound, which is 7.1. However, I don't have an amplifier that accepts an optical output, so that solution wouldn't work. (I have a 2.1 system hooked up right now- no room for anything else.) Oh well, I guess I'll try getting two cards to cooperate.

Thanks guys!

For those who gave input, thank you! I was able to take a sound card out of my old computer and use it in my new one. No problems at all=Solution found!

Ok, spill how you set it up. He he.:D

All I did was put the old card in my PCI slot, allow the computer to download the drivers automatically, and configure the programs. No sweat, and it works like a charm!

... allow the computer to download the drivers automatically, ...

If this means you got your drivers through Windows/Microsoft Update, you're ten times braver than I! I've had nothing but trouble with drivers available through there...

All the same, it warms my little heart that you've found your solution.

You got to love microsoft, I would love to know where they get those drivers from. Seeing as they are always broken, I would assume they do them their selves.:D
