Anyone fancy doing a bridge ducking race?

The problem is finding enough bridges close together to make a nice circuit. Otherwise it becomes a cross-country race. I've experimented with oil platforms to race under (the only vaguely bridge-like thing we can edit) but decided I'm not ready for that challenge yet :-) The tolerances are very fine, and there's no overtaking potential for eventual online racing.

I also wondered if placing two ships close together you could make bridges from the gaps between the prows, but only the carriers are big enough for that really, and you can only use them once. Besides, they're frame rate hogs for many people.

I even experimented with using some of the big bombers as static objects, to see if you can dip under their wings. But that's for trick shots, not races... assuming it's possible at all. I never managed it :-)

!! :-) Yes, the trk works fine.

1:29 is a *superb* time. As I thought, you get the time down so low by pulling off a near-perfect example of turning sharply, bleeding almost all your speed away, and "dropping" onto the runway at minimum speed. Very good flying. But then having seen your movies I expected nothing less :-)

Everyone should watch this. Superb technique.

You should have seen the 10 previous not-perfect-at-all examples, there is at least 1 or 2 second to improve,I hope someone will do 1:26 and maybe in a different way (doing a cobra in the horizontal plan during the short final for example )

note:I switched off the G effect as you could see, black out are too quick to come, not very realistic...(as a pylon race in a su27!!! definitively a great idea, I will look for other challenger on C6 )

Yes, but I bet all 10 examples were faster than my 1:36 :-)

Heh, it won't be me! ;-)

Good idea. The blackouts make flying fast very difficult. Sometimes too much realism spoils the fun.

Another good idea. But make sure they are slow, ok? ;-)

It's possible to have 1:59 for Su-25 mission (time to full stop because it makes the strategy more interesting and can be measured with the high accuracy. I mean it's a time when recoil from the nosewheel starts after the full stop).

Very good! I have not flown that mission since Tigrou posted his great time for the Su-27 track. I keep practising, but I don't think I will *ever* be that fast. Not in a million years! :-)

Yes, I like the fact that it tests all our skills as pilots. Apart from combat. Mmm... maybe we could make a course with targets on as well :-)
