Conure Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Hey again, Another question! I've installed patch 1.2 and so now I can't play the tutorial style missions. I've been practising my navigation skills from the video (and have been so sad as to take notes..) but now I want to practice just locating NDBs etc. I've flown the 'how to take off and blow stuff up mission' maybe 20 times now, but STILL don't feel confident enough to try anything else. Are there any missions I can download which let my practise specifics? Also, when flying over an NDB in order to update the PVI (is it an NDB you fly over?) it says press uncage shkval - is that the same uncage shkval which usually switches the TV on, and if so, does it have a different function when in INU mode? Thanks, I know the answer to this stuff is probably in the manual, and I get most of it, but just little things sometimes confuse me a bit! I often find it easier to grasp when you guys explain it. Thanks again you great and knowledgeable people! 159th_Falcon Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 If you can take off, and subsequently land in a controlled manner. Changes are pretty good you can also fly the shark. I suggest you join an online server, (for example 159th, 104th, 51st etc) and ask people for suggestions/hints/tips etc on whatever you want to learn. If you happen to see me flying (under the name of 159th_Falcon) don't hesitate to ask any questions you have. (my NAV system knowledge is pretty limited though) BTW, have you tried your hands on the "quickstart" mission yet? Just an idea. nemises Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I think Dragon (?) did a series of Training-day missions .. have a look in the missions sub forum here to find. As for Nav in the shark, the procedure you are talking about (INS update points) are, unfortunately, not functional at this stage...you can perform the procedure, the INS (Inertial Navigation System) does not accumulate errors, making the procedure redundant for now...unsure if this will be back in the game at a later stage. Good luck with the learning, there are many many things to learn... mamke sureto keep an eye on Miguez's excellent upcoming video tutorials (first is allready available for free) at http://leadingedgetraining.us/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=71&Itemid=110&vmcchk=1&Itemid=110
Conure Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 alright guys, cheers. shame the INS thing doesnt work! I'll check an online server, do they have teamspeaks or in game chat with them?
