Installing Team speak 3

I haven't got FC 2 yet but will in about 2 weeks, and I just downloaded TS 3 for FC 2, but now the application won't even open. It just opens and then closes. It hasn't even installed. Is there a problem, or does it see I don't have FC 2 yet?

 

And how does it work exactly?

Hi Shackman

TS3 is a completely seperate program from FC2 , and is fully stand alone.

When you download the program from http://www.teamspeak.com/ , you should get a file called "TeamSpeak3-Client-win32-3.0.0-beta22.exe" ... this is an installer, and should run up an engine, to prompt you through the process of installation. If this isnt firing up, you might need to download the file again, incase there is an issue with the one you got first time round (incomplete download for example).

 

Once it is installed, you should run TS3 from either the new desktop icon, or program menu , and configure a few things (your identity..ie the name you will show up as when you join a Teamspeak server), and a "Push to Talk" key...this is a key that when pressed and held will transmit your voice to anyone else also connected to the same TS3 server and "room".

 

During installation the program will also automatically prompt you to go through a Microphone and speaker setup wizard, which will make sure all your peripherals are working ok.

 

Once that is done, you can connect to a TS3 server .... for example the 104th TS3 server (details found here: http://www.104thphoenix.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7 )

 

You would Join the TS3 server specifically used for whichever FC2 / DCS server you were going to fly on..this is because, thats where everyone else who is flying on that server will also be talking.

 

Once you've joined the TS3 server, moved into the approporiate room and said Hi to everyone, you would then join the FC2 server ingame.

 

Voice comms are Vital for the flying experience and learning opertunities...you should not feel shy to join, just jump on in a TS3 server and start asking questions... people are mostly very friendly, especially if it's obvious you are new.

Thanks nemesis I downloaded the wrong file so now it's all set up when i get FC 2 in 2 wks. All I have to do is run TS 3 and FC 2 at the same time and I can communicate correct?

I downloaded the win64 server not client. Was that not the one to download even though I have Vista 64? Should i try 32 instead?

Hello All,

I am using FC2 and Blackshark. I installed TS3 and it works fine with the 104th TS server. However when I am running TS3 the sound to FC2 and Blackshark disappears. If I turn off TS3 the sound returns to FC2 and BlackShark. I can't seem to solve this issue. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Windows 7 Premium, 64 Bit with ASUS Rampage II extreme MotherBoard that has SB Xifi component.
