Yuri909 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Hello I am trying to figure out if this is a bug or not that I can not use the throttle slider on my joystick which is a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I just bought the joystick recently and it works on my other flight sims so I suppose this is the game not detecting or being compatible with it? I was hoping to bind either the throttle or the collective to it. I am using the Steam Version, sadly which means I have no training missions.
Panzertard Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 In the DCS options, select the Ka-50 Real (Or Ka-50 Game if you plan to fly on Easy), then "Axis" in the dropdown list. You should be able to assign it there. Some sticks may require more software to work with all games in Windows, so you may have to look for more software for your Logitech. Yuri909 Posted July 11, 2010 Author Posted July 11, 2010 Well I went through that and couldn't figure out what it was... I'll mess with it some more and see what happens.
Panzertard Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 When you select the "Axis", click on the column (to activate that controller) for your joystick - find the "Collective", select that field. - Click "Add", then move your slider back & forth - it should be detected. Press OK. Note, slider for a x52 works fine like this. But it depends on the Joystick / vendor. The mind is like a parachute. Yuri909 Posted July 11, 2010 Author Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) I can't bind slider to the throttle. I did get it to work on the collective though. Edited July 11, 2010 by Yuri909
159th_Viper Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I can't bind slider to the throttle. Throttle settings have to be 'switched' between different settings/positions. Accordingly cannot bind it to an axis. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! Frederf Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 There actually is a "throttle axis" control option but it's not all that useful. The PgUp/PgDn keys work fine. The only use of the throttle axis would be to smoothly increase throttle during start up but the virtual bird is plenty tough to endure the keyboard "steps."
