tonym Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 My Track IR doesn't seem to work when on a multiplayer server. It works fine otherwise. Is this a feature of multiplayer or am I doing something wrong.?
Panzertard Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Should work just as normal, same as with singleplayer. I couldn't possible image what goes wrong for you - tried to reboot? Tried using another USB port? Tried using latest TIR software, v5? The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
tonym Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions. I am already using Version5 and changing usb ports doesn't make any difference, nor does reboot. I am a noobie to multiplayer, but noticed on the forum, people talking about changes to viewpoints on some servers. On most servers I have tried, pressing F2 doesn't switch to outside view. Is this somehow linked to the Track IR problem?
Grimes Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 That shouldnt matter. Servers limit the external viewpoints because players could cycle through them to discover where the enemy is. Its sorta like a built in version of wallhacks. When you join a multiplayer game does the trackIR still notice you are in game? The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. ECV56_Finger Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Even though you have the latest version of the software, maybe you need to update the game list. Open the TIR soft and click on the wrench at the left top corner. Make sure you have the "Check for Game List Updates" checked, and also make sure you don´t have an announcement at the right top corner telling you that you need to update the game list. Remember that after every update, you need to restart the software. If that don´t resolve your problem, go inside a server, ALT+TAB to go back to your desktop with FC on line still working and check the main screen of the TIR soft, specially the part that says Profile and Title. Title should read "LockOn: Flaming Clifs 2". If it´s not the case, you need to update the game list for sure. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
=Panther= Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 As mentioned above get the latest game listing. Also when launching right-click on both lock on and TIR exe and run as administrator. I had the same problem when FC2 first came out. TIR worked fine in SP but not in MP, the fix was admin and updated game listing. tonym Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Thanks for all the help guys. The answer was to run BS multiplayer as administrator. I only recently converted to Windows7 and have yet to get the hang of this administrator business. Never had all this messing with XP.
Eddie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 If you install the game outside of your programs folder (in C:\Games\Black Shark for example) you won't need to run as administrator. Admin rights are only required when installed to default programs folder as it's protected by UAC.
=Panther= Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Tonym, glad you got it working. If you install the game outside of your programs folder (in C:\Games\Black Shark for example) you won't need to run as administrator. Admin rights are only required when installed to default programs folder as it's protected by UAC. That's interesting, I don't have any of my games or additional hardware in the programs folder and I still had to "run as admin" to get the TIR to function. Oh well, not an issue any more.
