TeeJay82 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Right now im experiencing NERDRAGE for the first time this year  Fresh install applied patch and no mods... every goddamn time i connect the hose with the refueling bay my plane control freezes up and starts to bank randomly off course (a10,f15,su33) nothing responds until the hose is ripped loose of the plane, then its all back to normal and realign with the tanker.. i do that and guess what:mad: once its connected it freezes up again and again and again:( to me a2a refuel is the ultimate test of skills while airborne, and not being able to complete it makes me very very frustrated. i fly straight with autothrottle engaged and the x65 on default force 1 setting. hope some of you are able to help a sad norwegian pilot:D
71st_Mastiff Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 the planes controls will or should not respond until your completed refueling. also make sure you have all wind speed to 0 on all alts, "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts", "He who never changes his mind, never changes anything," Winston Churchill. mvsgas Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Yeah, but it should not kick him off the boom/basket. Does it do the same thing when you control the throttles? To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
104th_Crunch Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Yes, in mission editor no wind at altitude you are at. You can have wind at low alt though. F-15 and A-10 you do not control after hookup, Su-33 you have control after hookup
GGTharos Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 For F-15 or A-10, aproach with as much accuracy as you can for the hook up. You should be nice and level. There is sometimes a strange bug where it will bounce you down or up, and off the boom - that is just something we have to live with for now. That aside, once on the boom you may notice some left/right drift. Move your stick ALL the way to the opposite side to induce some bank and correct it. Don't sweat it, do it carefully, repeat as much as needed. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
TeeJay82 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 ok thnx for the tips... been going on for 2 hours straight without any luck :/ i looked at lockon official for a training video, but could not find one... if one of you got a hot youtube tip, i would appreciate it very much :)
GGTharos Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Here's shoddy (I was slow at it) tanker refuel demo track. You can take control and fly it yourself. The tanker is flying 315KIAS more or less, which is the correct speed for F-15 refueling. For an A-10 it would be about 220KIAS.f15refueldemo.trk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
TeeJay82 Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 Great video GGT, but sadly it didnt help me much :/ but thank you very much for making it. i noticed as you connected you had a slight draft upwards and the plane corrected it... if that had been me the plane would have kept on going upwards until i DC from ze rod. ill try to make a track and see if i can show you my trouble
