ZoomBoy27 Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I'm currently nearing the completion on another campaign and with Pat01's Extract Missions from Campaign Utility, I can convert that campaign into a Missionpack. When I upload it, is your preference Campaign or Missionpack or both? What problems do you have with Campaigns? What problems do you have with Missionpacks? Your thoughts. NOTE: my campaigns/missionpacks do contain the password. SAM-Smasher Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Hi Zoomboy, I had recentley downloaded your SU25T campaign and mission pack. I must say the missions are excellent! I personally prefer campaigns, mainly for the immersion factor that they offer, they feel like an un-folding event. However the limitation of a campaign is such that you cant replay the mission once you have completed it, unless you reset the campaign and play through again, plus if your really completley stuck on a stage of a campaign or a show-stopper bug occurs that prevents the mission being completed that is usually the end of it for most people. With a mission pack I dont feel like an un-folding event is present and it merely feels like just a set of missions with no direction, but thats personal taste I suppose. Though you have the ability to play the missions in any order and replay each one as much as you like, I tend to just use single missions just for practice and fun, I dont take them as seriously as a campaign. Just my 2 pennys ;) "I love smashing the crap out of those buggers on the ground who keep making a beeping sound on my RWR..... the bells the bells!!!!!!.... erm yeah.... I like destroying SAM sites, thats the main point"

There is a way around that for flying a mission again. Load it in the Editor, use the password and you can fly any mission again. For getting completely stuck, you'd have to edit the Mission Goals. Delete them and just have one Mission Goal of you surviving. See the LO FC Quick Start Manual 1.1 page 88. Also complain to the campaign builder. In my latest campaign I had a show-stopper bug in the 7th mission and I did 2 things - 1) fixed the campaign and uploaded it again 2) set up a separate mini-version of the campaign from mission 7 onward by deleting Missions 1-6. Pat01 Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Zoomboy, I think stop bug comes from invalid names for groups, paintschemes, commander names and payloads. Some of them are not visible through the editor. I tried to fix the original su25 campaign that stopped after the 4th stage for me. It seems it has cured the campaign and I was able to complete it with saving between each stage. If you have some campaign with trouble, feel free to send me the file, I'll have a look. I think it's worth the try. +1 with Sam-Samsher, I personally prefer campaigns, but big campaigns are rather hard to test and check.

Some of them are not visible through the editor. I think what he's talking about is the ones where the mission has been tested/designed badly. Either it's too hard or the mission goals are messed up. For example, su-25t_campaign(that came with FC1.1) - Mission 2 had the player attacking with his Heavy rockets 2 angry frigates AND ALSO 2 SU-25s hiding in the fog right next to the frigates. The frigates might be doable but including invisible Su25s makes it nearly impossible. Pat01 Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 No, I don't speak neither about hidden groups nor badly designed missions, but names (most vehicles groups Commander names) within the campaign .cmp file that are hidden to the designer and cause troubles. Sometimes payloads and paintschemes seem to be well assigned to units and are actually not. Maybe a bug from the editor ?
zeufman Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 hi all Zoomboy, i am currently trying to convert your su-25 T mission ( extract from your campaign ) to multiplayer mission, with the same number of friendly flight. The 2 x SU-25t_15_CommandPost.mis, mission sead with a lot of fog, is really very hard in multiplayer for two pilot. But the 4 x SU-25T_06_Beach_Protect.mis is a good one, a big pleasure to play it with 4 friends. Thanks a lot both, zoomboy and Pat, to make this feature possible, and so easy. bye

But the 4 x SU-25T_06_Beach_Protect.mis is a good one, a big pleasure to play it with 4 friends... Glad to hear this type of work is being done. Someone in a SimHQ had said they wanted more co-ops. If acceptable to you, upload them to LOMACfiles, Combat Aces and others so we can share the fun. As for CommandPost, you can swap in whatever payload you need. I had based the Su-25T missionpack on Version 1.02 where you can swap in different payloads so there's nothing sacred about particular payloads. zeufman Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 When they were all done, i ll send them to you, and you could upload them where you want. For the command post difficulties, it is not a payload problem, but a threat problem, it is very hard to do a safe approach to the target.... . Even if we can protect us from sam lock or missile firing with mountain, when i have more than 2 missiles on my way, i can do anything for saving my plane....;-). I have only the choice to crash in the fog, or take sam on my face.....
AStotzer Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 I vote for a Campaign with the Declassify key included.
ZoomBoy27 Posted May 25, 2005 Author Posted May 25, 2005 I vote for a Campaign with the Declassify key included. My campaign password is gilliguck and it is always included. Oh, a note about my "Adler Secured" Campaign/Missionpack. I uploaded both to LOMACFiles.com and the current score is 48 for campaign and 38 for missionpack. The simmers are voting with their downloads. {blurb} You can download the Campaign at these sites: Download @ LOMACFiles View @ Combat Aces You can download the MissionPack here: Download here @ LOMACFiles {/blurb} ZoomBoy My Flight Sims Page - Link to My Blog - Sims and Things - DCS Stuff++ - Up-to-Speed Guides to the old Lockon A10A and Su-25T - Some missions [needs update]
