Jack has his SST profile set to output B and N with the slider and all I had to do to make it work is clear the in game settings for the speed brake controls and remap them to B and N. So Jack, looks like you don't have to update if we only need to delete the Keyboard.lua and then follow your instructions for changing the speed brake. Wichid Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think I may have solved my problem with my stick freezing up and bluescreening my system. If the custom names of the bindings are too long to fit in the MFD screen, then it apparently causes the problem and freezes up everything. I'll have to test this out later tonight. I'm curious as to why this wouldn't happen to other people if they're using the same profile with the same custom names though... I have been struggling with this same issue. I'll try the same fix in the default profile. Thanks heaps for this profile. It looks really good! SFJackBauer Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Thanks SFJackBauer, this is a great profile. definitely got me started much quicker than doing it by myself haha. I am having trouble with the radio commands though. What exactly did you assign to the 3 mfd buttons? (newb here) They are equivalent to the three-way switch in the Warthog for switching between UHF, VHF FM and VHF AM. It is only useful in missions with realistic radios enabled, otherwise they all have the same functionality (open the comms menu). And thanks to all who expressed their gratitude
flier-UA Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Thanks for the profile.. I'm having trouble though assigning TMS Forward button to my X52Pro throttle. I'm not able to select the area to enter the assignment. All the other TMS options are available for mapping but this one. Any suggestions?
WIpump Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I believe the profiles are loaded as directed. however, it doesn't seem like they are applying in game? my throttle display indicates Jackbauers A10. By pushing the throttle forward or backward has no effect on engines, in fact the slider controls the throttle. amongst several other buttons that arent what the profile indicates... anyone have an idea?
markriley Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) Shu77, did u use a certain program to list your profile labels and stick images like that, or is that a custom made excel sheet or something. Im looking at page 6 of this thread, posts 59 and 60. Thanks Edited July 3, 2011 by markriley [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] system specs: AMD 1100T X6, Asus Crosshair 4 Formula Mobo, 16 Gigs GSkill DDR3, XFX R9-290X 4GB 512-Bit, X-52 flight stick set, Samsung 2560x1440, Win7 64
shu77 Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I used PowerPoint 2010, a google X-52 image and then screen grabs of an Excel summary, I've actually redone it since using this diagram set as the basis http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69610&highlight=warthog+hotas+layout overlaid against the X-52. It looks awesome and is more readable at A3 on my wall than the original. I've debated releasing my profile and the poster as it now differs quite a bit from Jacks but haven't gotten anywhere towards getting permission to reuse the work of the other people involved Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools

markriley Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Ok all, i need some help saving the new profile once loaded. I can load the profile from this thread into the saitek joystick column in the control options in game. then i go make changes to the speedbrake letters under keyboard column and hit OK at bottom. I have to go to top right and press X to get back to main screen. Then if i go back into options, none of the changes or profiles have saved. What am i doing wrong?. I get the same if I make the changes and "save profile as" then exit and return.....still no changes saved. How do i get the new profile to become the default that is loaded each time i start the sim? Thanks [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] system specs: AMD 1100T X6, Asus Crosshair 4 Formula Mobo, 16 Gigs GSkill DDR3, XFX R9-290X 4GB 512-Bit, X-52 flight stick set, Samsung 2560x1440, Win7 64
shu77 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Theres a button in the bottom right, Apply, or OK which you need to hit which saves the changes to your profile modification, hitting the X will discard them Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools
markriley Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) I find this in the GUI manual PDF file in the options section " Along the very bottom of the screen are the CANCEL button which will return you to the Main Menu without saving any changes to Options, and the OK button which will return you to the Main Menu page but will save your changes. You can also exit the Options page by pressing the yellow X in the top right of the screen" When I press OK nothing happens. Any Ideas? I have the 1.1.0.8 patch installed Edited July 4, 2011 by markriley [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] system specs: AMD 1100T X6, Asus Crosshair 4 Formula Mobo, 16 Gigs GSkill DDR3, XFX R9-290X 4GB 512-Bit, X-52 flight stick set, Samsung 2560x1440, Win7 64
markriley Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 after doing some more testing it seems that any change made in the options tabs (except controls tab) is accepted and saved when i press "OK" and I am sent back to the main page. If i look at the controls tab and dont make any changes and clik "OK" then I get sent back to main page, but if i change anything (re-assign speedbrake keys, or load a profile) then the "OK" button doesnt do anything. I sure hope someone has had this happen and has a fix. shu77 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Try loading the default key and joystick config and see if it works. There were some changes in the available key sequences between the last couple patches and Im not sure Jack had updated his imports as we found a workaround a couple pages back. Maybe you are somehow running foul of that? winznut Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Hello there, I can't get the ministick of my X52 to work with A-10 anymore. All the mapping looks good and it should work, but it doesn't. I can slew with key commands but not with the stick. It worked before on my old system, now I upgraded my hardware and would like to play the game finally with more than 5 fps... ;) Thanks!
stubboyo Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 To use the ministick you'll have to use the SST profile editor. Open the editor and scroll down to "Mouse X Axis" and "Mouse Y Axis." Right click on the name of the axis and choose Bands. Then arrange the bands as you'd like (I have 33% and 66% as my break points). You can then assign the upper and lower bands to the keys you use to slew left, right, up, and down. For me the X axis is for up and down and the Y axis is for left and right (not intuitive). You also need to make sure you have the most recent drivers installed -- the ministick shows up as the Saitek MagicMouse. -stubboyo
winznut Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I got the newest SST editor and drivers, the keys are also already mapped from Jack's profile....
markriley Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 thanks for the idea Shu77. that doesnt want to work for me either..I did find another thread here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71719 that is the same prob im having to the letter.. probably a better place for the issue anyway. Issue is still not solved. Believe Im going to uninstall and re-install for lack of any other fix. markriley Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) SUCCESS!! Re-install fixed the problem. not brave enough to patch up to 1.1.0.8 yet. Demits Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Problems with controls Hi guys, I've installed and downloaded the SFJackBauer profile for my X52. It feels good and fairly intuitive. I'm completely new at this sim, so it's great to have a good way to be introduced to the controls. Though, I have experienced some issues which I cannot solve, and I've tried searching solutions here on the forum. I cannot get the mini stick to slew. I've tried to reinstall my saitek software and reloaded the .Pro profile in my Saitek taskbar program and the .lua file in DCS A-10C. When I try to bind the button in the options menu, the game does not even react to the input from moving the stick. It still won't work. Does anyone have any tips to solving this?
