Mad Dog 7.62 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I understand how to change the presets for the MFCD pages, but is there a way to bring up a page without setting a preset for it? Whippler Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 you can swap mfcd main pages whit coolie hat, short left to cycle trough left mfcd, and short right to cycle trough right mfcd, coolie down short to swap the mfcd's vice versa.
Mad Dog 7.62 Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 I haven't messed with programming my X-52 as its not working well and I have the Warthog HOTAS on order. Does it cycle through all the possible pages or just the ones you have set up on the bottom OSB's? Lixma 06 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Just the bottom (Main) ones. Handily with an additional LONG on the Coolie Hat you can then make that particular MFD's contents your SOI (if applicable).
Mad Dog 7.62 Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 OK, but back to the original question....is there a way to bring up a given page without having a preset set for it? nomdeplume Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I don't see how or why that would be possible.
Mad Dog 7.62 Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 I don't see how or why that would be possible. Its possible now to have any pages you want up....you can have the TADS or whatever else you want on BOTH MFCD's if you want. Why is simply because you may want a page sometime without changing the presets. Frederf Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 In Open Falcon there was the "quick 3" set for the bottom three center OSB. The HOTAS DMS (D = display in this case) left/right would cycle between these presets. You would set these in the DTC manager before you jumped in. However there was a central "menu" page where all of the pages were displayed beside an OSB. Surely the A-10C has similar.
nomdeplume Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Oh yes, I remember the menu in Allied Force... the MFCDs in the A-10 don't seem to work quite the same way though. Only menu I've encountered is the one for assigning the presets. Does seem a strange omission now that I think about it.
Frederf Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Noooo, not Allied Force, Open Falcon! Ahhh my eyes it burns!!! Yeah, I looked up the manual after I answered (typical idiot that I am) and it's just the page to set the 3 (5?) "quick" pages. That's apparently all you get. Fair enough most real pilots are going to have 6 presets (3 left, 3 right) for their mission planned out the week before, probably specified in a book even. It's not too much slower to change the preset and then use them as opposed to a "root menu" page.
