StrongHarm Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 When I go to a new steakhouse I get the fillet, no matter what looks good. This is how I judge the cook. New Italian place, it's manicotti. With immersive video games or, in this case sims, I have but one test: will a place and time within that software be etched into my memory like a time and place in the real world. That happened in DCS:A-10C tonight. I was flying a night mission. I had just splashed a helo while using NVGs and was pulling away from some ground fire. I went to an external view as I was popping flares. The moon was just above and behind my hawg. The flares were illuminating the belly. I got the same feeling I remember from when I was young on a summer Friday night. Clear skies and adventure in the air. The moment was etched. I'd like to thank all the people who put so much into this software. Bravo ED! Bravo! 1 It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
awjudge Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Screenshots or it didn't happen :-D Glad you're enjoying it, I was having fun on the Multiplayer the other day with a mate of mine, we were lasing targets for LGBs and using the IR pointer to let one another know what we were targeting, very cool indeed.

Did you trey to see if you could buddy lase?
Jg2001_Rasputin Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I tried buddy lase in Beta 1 with medicore results. Biggest problem seemed to be the ping and non hitting bombs ;) , but you can easily pick up the laser beam with the tgp of your buddy and deploy a bomb.

My "Mixed kebab starter, lamb Vindaloo, Keema Naan & mushroom Pilau rice”, equivalent quality test is how long the learning experience remains fun and rewarding, and more than that, the “big-grin” moments when new discoveries take place and pieces of disparate information crystalise into tactics and procedures. On month in and I have just figured out how to accurately employ LBS’s. A golden moment when the frustration of past failures washes away in a glorious TGP IR thunderflash. Last week’s revelation was Beta#2 mavericks fix and improved JTAC implementation. This SIM just keeps on giving. The learning curve is almost the whole point, after all, when you stop learning, you die. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals

My first post and on a subject that I am in total agreement with, this sim although still in beta is simply riveting  I was not much for manual reading in my other flight sim endeavors, DCS Warthog is changing my perception and I am having a lot of fun while learning. Sabre-TLA Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I just had my first successful JTAC experience at Nellis and I'll never forget the moment when the controller said "Cleared in Hot"! Awesome!:clap_2: This sim (and the series) just keeps getting better and better. I have every game and upgrade Eagle Dynamics has produced (including Flanker - what a long way we have come). You have a customer for life if you keep producing titles like this one. Many thanks. :worthy: MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
