bojote Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Hi all, Whenever I turn or pitch the aircraft I feel sttutering as if my PC is struggling to run Lomac. I have an FX-53 and a NVIDIA 6800 Ultra, both CPU and GPU are overclocked. I've excelent performance in all games I try, it seems my PC only has problems trying to run LOMAC. I was able to reduce the sttutering a little bit by enabling the MaxFPS option in graphicsd.cfg in the config folder to 30. Also water effects are set to low. I'm not using loman, but I remember there was an option to preload terrain that enhanced the performance greatly. I have 2Gb of memory, what can I tweak to take advantage of the memory I have available? Thanks,
SuperKungFu Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 That's a pretty good rig you have there...what is your settings and what fps are you getting in what condition? Because with that rig...you should be able to handle Lock On. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

aceflier Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 turn your view distance to medium it will help greatly you should then be able to set water to high. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Maybe you should install some tweaks to help with your fps. You can find a lot at http://www.lomacfiles.com/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hitman IF Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Ctrl+Backspace will allow you to see your fps in game. ---SVBS squad is playing Lock On, ADF/TAW and Typhoon now at www.svbs.co.uk !---
Ironhand Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Hi all, Whenever I turn or pitch the aircraft I feel sttutering as if my PC is struggling to run Lomac. (Remainder snipped) This is a silly question but, since the "stuttering" only occurs when you "turn or ptich the aircraft", is this a graphics issue or are you stalling the a/c by pulling too hard on the stick at too low an airspeed? The experience would be one of shaking which might be perceived as graphics stuttering. Could my 2Gb of memory play a role here? having too much memory affects peformance? I saw it in the Ubi forums long time ago.. maybe is bs... I do know that loman pre loaded textures and things like that taking advantage of aditional memory.. But, I do not use loman in FC, So I was wondering if there is some kind of tutorial explaining the settings in the cfg files affecting the game.

Have you tried setting your CPU and graphics card back to their vanilla settings in case the overclocking is somehow an issue with Lock On? I'm running an Athlon 64 3500+ and eVGA GF6800 GT PCIE card and 1 GB of memory with no problems. Your system should be outperforming mine, I would think. BBQ Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 a bit off topic but... I thought my trackIR was going nuts, twitching all over the place--until I realised high speeds in the su-25 causes a bit of a shake :D
