Atomic978 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Hi, I was just wondering if anybody has made a mission with beta3 kind of like the shooting gallery mission with jtac simiular to the one we had. This was a good practice mission and now that beta3 has come along we no longer have this I will like to have a simular mission but in the black sea area. I am not real good with the mission editor yet that is why I am checking. Thanks In Advance.. =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD. Atomic978 Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 thanks i will give it a try in a few.. I also noticed that with the full beta 3 install the missions for nevada are still in the list. Are they suppose to be or do we need to manually remove them. =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD. PourLeMerite Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Its all I do basically...create my own custom missions. Depending on how much time I have I'll make a short or long mission. The quickest way to make your own custom mission is to adapt an existing one. i.e change a basic ramp start game by adding a few insurgent tanks 80 cliks or so away...a column of say 4 tanks at 35kmh going along a road then take off - search em out and destroy with your custom payload..MAVs are great for tank killing - then return to base. Another mission I do a lot is to set up opposing forces closing in on my airbase. say 3 tanks 4 Kamas, 3 AAA on open Ural, 4 jeeps and the odd fuel truck maybe a captured civ bus or artic on a ten minute to base deadline...so I have to start up the A-10c or KA50 depending on game as fast as possible, ( scramble) take off, do the business then land back. Its great fun and puts all your skills to the test in a relatively short space of time. There are old pilots, there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots.
ESzczesniak Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 As I used the Shooting Gallery mission quite a bit for training, I have just started working on a replacement myself. I will certainly upload to the forums when I have something respectable. In short, I'm keeping air defenses out of the map and making all AI skill as bad as possible so even things like BMP's that can shoot at you (and did so in the Shooting Gallery Mission) will be bad. I plan to throw a tanker and AWACS in and once I get to this point will upload it. This should work well for most basic weapons/procedure practice. Within the future, I'll add moving ground targets, some harmless orbiting A2A targets, JTAC's and anything else people suggest they'd like. Still learning the mission editor at the moment though, so it will probably be another 24-48 hours before this first stage gets finished.
rss0900 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Where can you download user made missions? As a new user I'm finding the various part of this form difficult to use.
ESzczesniak Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Where can you download user made missions? As a new user I'm finding the various part of this form difficult to use. You will need to have access to the Open Beta forum (there's a link to request access in your purchase/download page for the DCS A-10C). Once in those forums, there's a subforum for user made missions. I'm uploading v1.00 of this mission now.

ESzczesniak Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Found the forum and missions, thank you. FYI, I changed a couple of the more glaring issues (like lack of a briefing screen) and uploaded a new file. More significant changes will come later.
