  1. FYI : in case anyone is interested seems like a good deal, appears to be new not listed as refurbished. $99 off the regular price. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1745332-REG/next_level_racing_nlr_g001_hf8_haptic_feedback_gaming.html
  2. Thanks I will try this when I go back to the MT version. Have been flying on the non-mt version simply due to the lake of reshade.
  3. Also having stutters when looking around, more like micro-stutters, enough to notice in the eye and be just a minor eye strain. I thought it could be due to pre-rendered frames in the NVCP but I've not had the chance to test it yet. Maybe setting your pre-rendered frames to 1 or 3 may help, opposite of what you have?
  4. Anyone else having this issue? On the MT version using openXR when I start a quick mission the screen is very dark like the gamma is set to .05 then after about 30 seconds it reset and the screen gets very bright or rather goes to what the gamma is set as such as 1.2 rtx 3080, G2 Reverb, i5-10600K
  5. Good news after days of tweaking and playing around with every setting and guide I could find I think I have my issues resolved and am happy to report I now see a good increase in the MT version like many others. I'm not sure but I think my fix was in the NVCP panel somewhere - when I first setup the MT version I followed a guide that told me to set FPS to 1000 and threaded optimization on along with a few other settings. After turning everything off I'm now seeing a 10-15 FPS increase. Whether I used SteamVR or OpenXR seems to make no difference both give the same FPS in MT version for me. Posted all my settings in post #241 below in case it helps someone else. Now after I get some sleep I'll be ready for Normandy 2 - hopefully ED will surprise me tomorrow with a release

    FPS

I've been tweaking for days, DCS that is. Finally managed to see 90 FPS on maps outside of the channel, loaded up the AH-64 tonight and and only got 32 FPS on Caucuses. I see the texture issue is still there where this helicopter requires medium instead of high textures and after changing that I'm seeing 60-75 now on the MT version using SteamVR. When I launch the non MT version also using SteamVR as openxr my FPS all the same settings I'm seeing 42-45FPS, up until tonight and all the tweaking I saw no difference between MT and non MT but obviously I see it now. Using an I5-10600K, 3080 card, Reverb G2 (currently running 50% resolution so have some room to move this up), PD = 1.0 I also set my pre-rendered frames in the NVCP back to 1, based on the GPU graph from steamvr it helped the frame times.
  7. I'm on an HP reverb G2. Thank you for the info
  8. Hello, I am running the stand alone version not through steam. I have tried setting both steamvr and openxr as the runtime to test both of them. The MT version consistently produces lower FPS than the non MT version (about 3-5 FPS). I did try the tool kit as well as the extended toolkit, the turbo setting in the extended toolkit did bring a few more frames (about 3). I'm still at a lose as to why so many see improvements with the MT version but I'm getting worse performance. Appreciate the suggestions, maybe after a few patches it will just start working for me
  9. I've been searching for what people are using in regards to custom render scale in OpenXR but I can't seem to find anything. In one of the setup guides the guy had it at 90%. I'm trying to benchmark my setup to see if it is on par with those of you who have been using dcs and openxr for a while. For those who use OpenXR - 1) What custom render scale percentage do you use? 2) Are you also setting another scaling inside DCS using the OpenXR toolkit? 3) Assume the majority of people are leaving DCS pixel density at 1 is that correct? Thank you
  10. Thanks, if I add another profile for dcs.exe , I'm still unable to remove it and only the one continues to show up. My concern was that it was trying to use this profile and overwriting my settings to the MT folder which I also have setup. Turns out it was not so I don't have to worry about trying to make it go away. I don't understand where it pulls this from since I removed DCS, saved games, and all registry entries but it retained this in the NVCP list. Thank you
  11. nullSeems I am unable to remove the below dcs profile, the remove button is greyed out. I've uninstalled DCS, removed everything from Saved Games and there are no entries in my registry for digital combat or black shark. Anyone know how to remove this profile from the control panel?
  12. If anyone has suggestions I am willing to try but here is what I discovered was capping my FPS @ 60FPS in MT. In SteamVR, I had to start it without DCS running then click on "Set SteamVR AS OpenXR Runtime" under the Developer option. Once I did this the FPS was now showing 90 at the menu, so it was this setting in SteamVR that was capping me to 60 however my results get worse. If I go back to openXR tools and under the mixed reality tab set windows mixed reality as the openXR runtime my FPS is capped from the main menu again back at 60FPS. So the only way for me to get back to 90FPS appears to be to set SteamVR as the openxr runtime. The performance in MT using the above method, for me is 3 FPS worse than the non MT version. This is what I experienced a few months ago when I tried OpenXR back then the performance was slightly worse for some reason. Seeing results other people are getting with similar or the same hardware as me is disappointing as I was really hoping to see some improvements. Will continue to play around with various things to see if I can figure out what the problem might be. MultiThread Version - 49-50 FPS Non MultiThreaded Version - 53-55FPS Test: P-51 : Cold Start: The Channel Map RTX3090, i5-10600K, 32GB RAM, Reverb G2 null
  13. Installed openXR and got the same results. Not sure if this still applies but applies the -force_OpenXR command to the shortcut and still the FPS is locked to 60 in the main menu. Appears regardless of whether I use openXR or not something is locking my FPS to 60 resulting in a 20 FPS frame loss over the non mt version. RTX3090, i5-10600K, 32GB RAM, Reverb G2
  14. I am somewhat confused by this. I don't have Steam VR running nor does it open, if I manually open Steam VR I'm no longer able to get to the application settings upon starting DCS anymore to adjust the application settings. In the non MT version steam VR continues to start and I'm able to adjust the settings via steam VR. I tried Open XR a while back and a slight decrease in performance but will try it again and see if this resolves the issues and report back.
  15. For those not using OpenXR how do you adjust the headset settings anymore since it's no longer using SteamVR either? Is it all controlled through Windows Mixed Reality settings? Still trying to figure out how I get 60FPS at the main menu in MT but 90 in non-MT. Thanks
  16. I lose around 20 FPS in multi-threading. Tried setting unlimited frames and the suggestions above but no luck, also tried vsynch and off in game. There is definitely a setting that is limiting the FPS because in the main menu during multi-threading I only get 60FPS, but in non MT I get 90FPS. I'm not running OpenXR , but I notice I can't use Steam VR to get to the application settings anymore either - it disappears when DCS starts and I can't get it back. Multi-Threading 33 FPS Non Multi-Threading 55 FPS Same DCS settings, Channel Map cold start Like everyone above I see CPU bound in yellow, however as mentioned above it's only 60 FPS not 90 in the main menu so has to be a setting somewhere that is reducing the FPS. RTX3090, i5-10600K, 32GB RAM, Reverb G2
  17. Actually just got it working, appears you have to set it up outside the headset, config the settings you want to use, then restart DCS and reshade should now be working.
  18. Same here I went back to SteamVR but don't know how to get reshade working, only works outside the headset.
  19. I'm not sure I have it setup properly but DCS now opens without starting SteamVR but I went from about 39FPS in the apache down to 22FPS with OpenXR . DCS and SteamVR run better for me so I'm not sure where my drop in performance is coming from as it seems others are reporting good increases. I'm on an rtx 3080 with a reverb G2.
  20. I've not played in a couple months, just went in tonight to try again and same thing all of my modules were uninstalled. Upon trying to reinstall got the server could not connect errors and the third time it's now downloading the modules. I too have no anti virus software and only a single DCS account - would concur with OP something along the way uninstalled modules. Also turns out I can't get anything downloaded I keep getting server errors now. Enough fun for the night maybe will try next week 00000.219 INFO : DCS/2.8.1.34667.2 (x86_64; EN; WORLD,P-51D,THECHANNEL_terrain,AH-64D,MI-8MTV2,UH-1H,KA-50) 00000.219 INFO : branch: openbeta 00000.219 STATUS: Downloading version info... 00000.411 ERROR: Conection to server 'cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Couldn't resolve host name 00000.411 STATUS: Servers are unable to complete your request. 21. Anyone know where this can be downloaded from, the link does not appear to work anymore. Thanks
  22. The link in this post no longer seems to work, anyone know where this can be downloaded? Thanks
  23. I get between 50 and 90, channel map is worst for me. The trick for me was to go in to steam VR and set the resolution to 50% then open the the pre-app setting and set the multiplier to 40%, in DCS I crank IP up to 1.7. Seems pretty clear to me and frames are good. The resolution and multiplier setting in steam vr were the only ones that really improved my performance.
  24. @Hammer 1-1 @Jarhead0331 I'm not sure I know what everyone else is getting FPS wise or what settings they have. My system is stock not overclocked, I got a i5 10600K processor, 32gb ram, DCS running on an SSD, 3080 GPU, and an HP reverb g2 for the VR. The steam VR settings are 50% resolution and a multiplier of 40%. Below are the settings I have in DCS. If I change the pixel density down to 1.5 or 1.3 I don't really notice any FPS difference, tried .9 but things got blurry for me and the FPS not really showing much different. The only setting I've found right now that impact my performance are the Textures (but only the apache), and the multiplier in Steam VR which I don't really understand what it does at 60% things are horrible at 40% seems good.
  25. I found my issue it was in the steam VR settings. Had per eye resolution set to 50% around 2160x2160, but under DCS I had a multiplier set to 60%, dropped this to 40% and then had to lower the textures from high to medium like everyone else. Now get 41-45 FPS. I also noticed pixel destiny now plays where before when I changed it, had no effect, so whatever I changed in steam vr fixed me. Right now I've got pixel density set to 1.7 .
