recoil17 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I work on naval ground support equipment for a living and it plays a big role in keeping planes flying. It would be really cool to see some static equipment around some of the airfields. I thought there would be some, at Nellis atleast, because of this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36034 Anybody have any idea if we will see some static GSE in the final release? "Simultaneous selection of fuel dump and afterburner during high AOA maneuvering may cause fuel to ignite with resulting fuselage damage."
Agg Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I agree, and I hope that we will see this in the final release :)
Yskonyn Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Well its always something mission editors can add I suppose, but I would oppose to having those at every airport automatically. Many people have to watch their settings to prevent performance issues as it is already. Only adding more stuff to the world which aren't too relevant (at least in my opinion) doesn't sound like a good idea. I am all for options though, so them being added in a mission by the mission editor is a good idea. At least you can limit the amount of stuff being put in that way. chaos Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 There are fuel bowsers, GPU's and whatnot in-game. I don't know the names of the vehicles off the top of my head but they're there alright. Just open up the encyclopedia... "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."
recoil17 Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 I'm talking about some weapons loaders, maybe some tow bars, tow tractors, etc. maint. stands "Simultaneous selection of fuel dump and afterburner during high AOA maneuvering may cause fuel to ignite with resulting fuselage damage."
mvsgas Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) You wouldn't see that much equipment in a deployed location for an A-10. Ground power and hydraulic power will be handle by the APU for normal day to day checks. You would see chocks, halon fire bottle, few ladders, a bomb loader or two and tool boxes. Fuel trucks would look different from the one already in the sim but we would not benefit any if they took the time to model those. One of the cool thing about the A-10, you don't need that much A.G.E. Edited November 30, 2010 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
mvsgas Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Even when turn apart there is not that much A.G.E. You can see here a hydraulic servicing cart, a Hydraulic test stand on the other side of the aircraft ( AKA a "mule") and a self gen nitrogen cart on front. Yskonyn Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Well it would be 'nice to have' I suppose, but not really neccessary. Added objects for the mission editor are a good idea though, just not added to the world by default. Then I can never fly a decent lowvis approach anymore due to performance! :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-E, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 2400Mhz, Intel i7 9700K 5.0Ghz, Asus GTX1080 8GB, SoundBlaster AE-5, G15, Streamdeck, DSD Flight, TM Warthog, VirPil BRD, MFG Crosswind CAM5, TrackIR 5, KW-908 Jetseat, Win 10 64-bit ”Pilots do not get paid for what they do daily, but they get paid for what they are capable of doing. zaelu Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) it would be cool to have moving crews and machinery around the plane... scripted... when you do a ramp start, refuel and rearm... when you give commands to ground crew cars should rush to your plane and hoses be connected to it etc etc... of course... only in designated areas. driving through a deserted airfield is a bit awkward...still. or when you call an emergency landing :P Edited November 30, 2010 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
