Im trying so hard to get to grips with this game....

But i just get problem after problem .

1st of: whats up with the:instant action and create fast mission modes,as soon as the map loads im in f2 view, not sure if thats ment to be, then as soon as i enter f1 view, i just lose my throttle controls, infact if i push the throttles on my hotas warthog forwards, my plane turns right, and if i pull the throttles back, it turns left, or, that could be vice versa

The only thing that seem to work ok at the moment is the training missions

and my stick and throttle work fine in that..

now i no this still in beta stage, but are these bugs, or am i doing something wrong

Also can anybody tell me, how i can get my hotas warthog stick, in game, to fly level, for some reason it keeps wanting to climb, and i have to keep having to push the stick forwards to level out

anyways if anyone could help me out, it sure would be appreciated.

regards

Verify through axis tune in the controls setup screen (select "A-10C Real" and then "Axis Commands" that the various axes were detected correctly.

Sounds like you have huge axis mapping issues that need to sorted out in the options screen. Go to your axis commands tab in the control options and make sure you do not have multiple axis's mapped to other axis's.

Do you have any idea what trim is or how to trim out your aircraft?? You adjust trim to maintain level flight as or actually any attitude you want. Your aircraft attitude changes with any change of speed and requires constant trimming.

If any of this does not make sense to you please let me know and I will give you my home address because your best bet at this point would be for you to send me your warthog hotas as it would be put to better use by me.

These seem Ok to me but...

... but what if you select A-10C Game (instead of A-10C Sim)?

And in what kinda state are you running the game, simulation or game mode?

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

just uninstalled game and stick/throttle, just installing it all again, see if that makes a diffrence:huh:

Also can anybody tell me, how i can get my hotas warthog stick, in game, to fly level, for some reason it keeps wanting to climb, and i have to keep having to push the stick forwards to level out

This is completely normal behaviour - increased thrust leads to increased speed leads to increased lift leads to nose-up. Additionally the engines aren't aligned along the center of gravity so even adjusting the throttle will cause a change in your pitch.

Additionally, a bit of a turn to either side is expected if you have an asymmetric loadout. If you're seeing a really strong yaw then maybe you're controlling the rudder, or only one engine. It looks like you have the TM HOTAS Warthog? It should be configured correctly "out of the box", so maybe you're running one engine faster than the other? I'd recommend locking the two throttle together for normal use, and only unlocking them for startup/shutdown and in case something goes wrong in flight and you need independent control.

I would suggest, now that you've got it reinstalled, you do the following:

a) set your preferences in the options / gameplay screen to how you want them, i.e. whether or not you want simplified avionics and/or flight model ("game mode"), and make sure you enable the "always use these options" checkbox.

b) once in the sim and in control of your plane, press RightCtrl+Enter. In the bottom left corner you'll see representations of all your flight controls. Move them and watch that they respond correctly. The two vertical lines on the left indicate the throttle position, and the crosshair is used for the stick axis. It should be pretty straightforward.

Edit: it might be easier to hit F2 to get an external view (you can pan around using the numeric keypad arrows) and watch what control surfaces move as you move your controllers.

If there is anything wrong there, you should correct it in the axis controls part of the controls page. But I think your axis mappings may be correct, and what you're experiencing is simply the effects of a detailed flight model.

For that, all I can suggest is you get used to using trim. Every time you change speed, altitude or pitch, you will need to re-trim to maintain that. And if it's not obvious: you are almost always constantly changing at least one of those, which means you'll need to retrim pretty much all the time.

You might also find it worthwhile, if you haven't already, using the "axis tune" button on the controls page to add a curvature to your pitch and roll axes. I find around 25 works well. This smooths out the effect of inputs towards the center of your physical control, which makes the plane less twitchy.

"how i can get my hotas warthog stick, in game, to fly level, for some reason it keeps wanting to climb, and i have to keep having to push the stick forwards to level out"

One word: TRIM!

The Warthog needs liberal use of the trim hat. Wait, let's just say flying any aircraft needs regular adjustment of trim.

Thanks for all your help guys, the install of both game and hotas warthog seems to have fixed it

once again thanks, now i can get back to training
