coldcrew Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 reboots are usually caused by bad drivers. That's why I stick to only the official ones from nvidia. Beta drivers can be good but mostly bad for you.
skinns Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 I've been using these drivers for a week and seen small performance increases and no issues what so ever with stability, and less flickering as well with my PCI 6800 GT. All in all not bad at all depsite being beta. 90 years of Excellence

Many thanks Hi Kevler, Is there an Plextor DVD-ROM player in your system, that is older then the current latest model (PX-130A)? i9 13900KS (H150i), RTX 4090, 64 GB RAM @ 6000 MHz CL30, TM Warthog HOTAS + MFD's, MFG Crosswind, LG 48GQ900, Valve Index VR, TrackIR 5, Win11 Pro x64
Dutch60 Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 I have a Sony DVD-RW dual layer DRU-800A. Sorry Kevler then I probably can't help you! I also had some minor instability problems with my system in the first week and the also happened not only in games but also in ordinary things like word, excel, installing or surfing the net with explorer and firefox. At first I also had at strong hunch that it was my power supply or some heat or timings related problem, so I tested and tried every ting but I had no luck fixing the problem and I am a software programmer for PC software by profession so I really know something about setting up and tuning a windows system. Then after one week a called my system builder and I did take my system there and the fixed the problem in half an hour by replacing my older Plextor DVD-ROM drive by the latest model the PX-130A (at no cost). As you can imagine I was completely baffled by this fact but the told me there were already many of there customers who had the same problem and that it was related to the nForce4 chipset and the use of some DVD-ROM drives so you might try and disconnect yours and see if this helps. Good luck trying this.
