silent one Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Im trying to work out how to program my cougar fro speedbreaks. Currently it appears that you have to continuously push breaks to open them and continuously push breaks to close them. Previously its been easy to program the speedbreak switch on the HOTAS with a click to open and a release click to close and switch goes back to center condition. This doesnt appear to work in Warthog as you have to continuously hold the button to keep it opening or closing. Is there a solution? Id like a switch open speadbreak. Switch closed speedbreak closed solution if possible
SmokeyTheLung Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 You may be stuck with this one, as far as I know the real speed break switch does have to be held in order to open them up. (just tapped to close them) System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
KillaALF Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 That's not how it works in the Hog, I'm afraid - it is not a on/off speedbreak like in some other aircraft. Better get used to it, after a few hours it's no big deal at all.
Frederf Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 The closing position isn't spring-loaded in the real 'hog so one can simply slide the switch to the retract position and leave it there while it does its thing. The opening side is spring-loaded which requires it to be held down. Try conforming your technique to reality first before you expend a lot of effort doing the reverse. You might like it.
Slayer Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 It allows you to have variable amounts of braking. In your car your brake pedal is not full on or full off is it? Should be easy to get your head around fairly quickly. Switch configuration is: (momentary hold)brakes open-(toggle) neutral-(toggle) close.
