rextar Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Hi guys just wanted to ask your advice on accessing the radio chatter in game ,just watched a YouTube vid with it enabled pls help!!! Many thx Intel i5 3.2 ghz 8 GB crucial ram gtx 660 superclocked 2gb 500watt corsair psu win7 64bit extreme pro track ir5 Turtle beach x12
mtuckner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 You have to be on the same frequency as other flights or units doing their thing to hear other stuff going on. There are youtube videos of people flying who inserted real life radio chatter into the background, which may or may not have been what you watched. They just do that for cool effect in the video.
rextar Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 So you can't hear chat in game? Intel i5 3.2 ghz 8 GB crucial ram gtx 660 superclocked 2gb 500watt corsair psu win7 64bit extreme pro track ir5 Turtle beach x12
mtuckner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Yes, you get to hear radio messages in game from various elements on your side, you just need to tune your radio. You should hear generated messages about units engaging targets, returning to base, reporting enemy contacts, out of munitions, etc... It will not be, however, ultra realistic background chatter for the sake of immersion.
rextar Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Oh right and what's the procedure to hear that tuck? Intel i5 3.2 ghz 8 GB crucial ram gtx 660 superclocked 2gb 500watt corsair psu win7 64bit extreme pro track ir5 Turtle beach x12
mtuckner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Crack open the manual and look at the radios. On your left panel you will usually configure the VHF AM to be on a specific frequency for the allied flights, say for example 111.0 VHF AM. Once you tune the radio it will come in automatically as they report their activity. This only works if you are flying a mission with an active friendly force on your side. A good example of allied flight chatter is the first mission in the campaign Georgian Hammer.
Vekkinho Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 You can awlays run Live ATC streams in the background for best immersion, just tune to your favorite ARTCC. These are civilian and cargo flight comms! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
rextar Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 Thx for that will try to crack it!!! Intel i5 3.2 ghz 8 GB crucial ram gtx 660 superclocked 2gb 500watt corsair psu win7 64bit extreme pro track ir5 Turtle beach x12
mooshim Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I can't, for the life of me, tune into my wingman's radio during the instant action mission. I broadcast SPI, I press mic FWD (?) and issue commands and silence. --Is there something I'm missing? Many thanks! Cheers, Moosh Usually your wing/flight are assigned 251.00 on the UHF radio(the 2nd one down). Use the Mic Switch Down with the UHF tuned to that freq. If I remember right the UHF is already set up in the Instant Action Missions, so try the Mic Switch Down first. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?"
