Greb Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Bizarre problem. --Maybe it's a alzheimers... I set the bottom radio to 30.000 and can't get JTAC's on the phone. Anybody got a suggestion? --tried switching to am, fm... it's never happened before to me. cheers Not sure Moonshim! Doc may have the answer there. You could also go to Easy Communication if you just want to work on your JTAC skills! I beleive I have it set up that JTAC doesn't show up until you hit the trigger zone! .....I think! 1

dane48 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Another mission, Well done. I really enjoyed it and will do the night mission next. Thanks. +1 "To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home."-----anonymous
TwoLate Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Greb thanks for the great missions. On your second mission I am learning how to enter UTM coordinates. When I enter the UTM KM722559, I get marked spot that is something like 380 miles away. Any guess what I am doing wrong? Thanks I tried the second mission again and tried another target with UTM KM722558 and that one worked. Go figure. Edited January 6, 2011 by TwoLate [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Sometimes I will mark a target and it will be pointing 180 degrees the opposite. ...........bug maybe.......WIP ....not sure. Thanks for the input and glad you liked it! Got another mission on it's way. Glad you liked it Dane. My whole intent was to design something that was entertaining, realistic, and gives a learning environment. It also gives me the opportunity to learn the ME! Thanks again!
Topcat357 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Just wanted to say thanks for these missions! Greb, Bahdger and others have contributed some awesome work recently. I have been slowly getting familiar with flying this sim and these missions have really helped. I really enjoy the efforts made to create a surrounding environment (ie. other aircraft taking off/landing, radio chatter from other flights, CAP support..etc). I hope to get into some mission building myself, after learning alot more about the flying lol. Keep up the great work!! TC PS: As a Rookie flyer...I really enjoyed the JTAC Pracice Misson2 due to its simple mission design along with the busy 'life' surrounding it. Edited January 7, 2011 by Topcat357

I am glad you enjoyed flying them as much as I did building them. I love that one. It's has a lot of Airfield Activity and it is relaxing. You are flying into the Black Abyss and it will really get you up to speed on IFR flight. Got even a better one on it's way! Edited January 7, 2011 by Greb 1
redbaron_ict Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks for the input Livebait! I think I like the atmosphere more then I do the bombing! LOL!!! Here is another little JTAC practice mission with a lot of LIVE atmosphere. JTAC will call 9 line for every target if you kill one per pass. Good for honing your skills. The targets are on city street and between buildings so you really have to watch how you turn on target. Starts from Ramp with a lot of distractions. The yard birds standing next to the Blackhawk is how I remember the ARMY, standing around talking shit! LOL!! When the F15 parks you are clear to taxi and take off. Think I got it timed about right. Have Fun, and let me know how it runs for ya! Very fun. Those buggers were crammed in between the buildings! Awesome work Greb! The environment and activity was worth it alone. :worthy: This was a show off mission to my bud, who was a missile guy in the AF over in Quatar. His mouth was open and he was amazed at this simulation! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] | XPS 730 | Q9450 (12M Cache, 3.6 GHz, 1800 MHz FSB) | | 790i SLI | GTX 570 SC | 8GB (4x2) DDR3 1800MHz | | SoundBlaster XFi | 2x Samsung 1GB HD | 24" Dell ULtrasharp | | TrackIR 5 | Logitech G940 HOTAS |

Wait until you try the CAS Convoy it just blows me away what you can do with the editor!
Cezar11 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I love this mission.. but I have one problem.... if anyone thinks that i'm going to get close enough to a AAA vehicle to see a IR pointer with my naked eye, rember which one it was, ... then fly off to 7 miles to target it and hit it with a mav... they are nuts. I'm assuming it's a work in progress, as you would think you'd be able to see an ir pointer with an ir mav seeker head from standoff... but you can't. But, it's a good time had by all.. I missed both -12's on the tank so I blew it up with the left over mav, just tidying up really LOL. Is there anyway we can point that AAA out by another means? The LSS is fine for the tank. Topcat357 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 @Cezar:I am having fun with this mission too! Are the AAA vehicles you are talking about the IFVs? If so, I dont think these could be considered AAA. I am no expert, so anyone please correct me. IFVs can definitely be armed with cannon and/or surface to air missiles, but not always. These vehicles (IIRC) are in middle of a number of buildings..thus probably obscuring their Field of View even if they were carrying Manpad style missiles. After several passes, I could see the anti-air defenses getting pretty tricky. lol My reply is just meant to be a friendly conversation...no debate/arguement meant :) TC I love this mission.. but I have one problem.... if anyone thinks that i'm going to get close enough to a AAA vehicle to see a IR pointer with my naked eye, rember which one it was, ... then fly off to 7 miles to target it and hit it with a mav... they are nuts.

Just seems inaccurate. Granted, I enjoyed the mission and it's great jtac training. My concern/interest was a bit more general than just picking on this mission.
