vienna Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Hi I realized, when i contact JTAS, i cant communicate anymore, without sending a complete mission or check out to JTAS. In one word, once in touch with JTAS, no communication possible with other units...is this normal or do i miss something?
Frogfoot1606687865 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 If you use andvanced radio you can still comunicate using the other two radios. simply use the radio switch on the throttle to select another radio. Let me give you an example... JTAC on 31 FM Flight on 251 UHF AWACS on 144 AM Press the HOTAS radio button back to talk to the JTAC , sign on with JTAC and recieve 9-line... Next you decide you want to talk to your wingman. Press HOTAS radio button down and call wingman on UHF. When you have finished with you wingman you wish to get a picture from the AWACS. Press HOTAS radio switch forward to talk to AWACS. Then to continue to talk to the JTAC press HOTAS mic button back and you should be able to continue where you left off. Look in the manual for the Mic keypresses. Hope this helps. nomdeplume Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The radio will generally stay in touch with whoever you last spoke to using the same radio. So for example, if you contact JTAC with the VHF AM radio, the next time you open the VHF AM radio, the menu will already be in the JTAC section. Some of the menus let you use F12 to go back, but not all do. I think this is what you're referring to? The easiest workaround I've found for this is to use the MIC switch for a different radio (in particular, the UHF radio seems good for this) which will open up the top-level comms menu. Then, while that's still open, use the MIC switch to open the radio menu you wanted (in this case, VHF AM). You should find yourself at the root comms menu with the VHF AM radio selected. So in short: try activating the comms menu using a different radio, then while it's still open, activate the desired radio.
vienna Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 thx for the explanations. will try and hope it will work.
genbrien Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 if you use easy comm, then you must press ''shift /'' to go back 1 menu at a time.
