In a 138/138 edition of Croatian PC Play magazine pages 60 and 61 cover croatian community of virtual pilots (=CVFS= and =CRO=) who held a multiplayer demonstration of FC2 during the 19th anniversary of Croatian Airforce (HRZ) during "Open days" at Pleso airport - Zagreb.

Memebers of HRZ who fly real Fishbeds also tried flying the virtual MiG-21bis FC1.12 model (made by Beczl) and few FC2 coop missions were flown.

More experienced LockOn virtual airmen from Croatia demonstrated their skills of aircombat teaching younger players tricks of being lethal and alive in MP with FC1.12 and FC2.0

Article is written by =CRO=BabaLooey aka Renato here at forums.eagle.ru

Entire croatian LockOn community was mentioned with names of =RvE= FoxteR and =RvE= Joe who had a great successes flying With Reservoirs virtual Elite during LockOn MP tournaments!

So big thanks to Baba for keeping this thing alive!

Salut!

Thanks for Vekkinho for posting this.

Few corrections thou...

Sadly, those were not "open days" (meaning, open for public), but "invitation only", mainly for schools, and civilian and military dignitaries.

Also, because of organizational schedule of CroAF, we were not visited by real MiG pilots, but few from helicopter (Mi-8/17) and training (PC-9) came along and showed high interest into out work. Many more come, all were very interested in both the sim and our hardware.

There was 6 of us, 5 brought their PC's, 1 came directly from night shift and had no PC but helped later on. We made one big banner and few smaller posters.

We presented MiG-21 mod for FC112 by Becszl, doing some a2a, and coop mission for FC2. They were very interested into Tacview. Sadly, I was not able to make it run in live stream (that why I asked about that in antoher topic, but no go).

Some kids (12-14yo) tried themselves out.

Accommodation was excellent, PR people form CroAF were amazing.

Few pics from our participation....

I was too busy to take more pics, only few during preparations and few later on.

I wish there is more we could do, but it is hard to raise interest when our Air Force does NOT have Ka-50 or A-10C, and there is no change in hell they will get any of those.

We need something that will bring more attention. Air Force is interested into what they have or can get. Currently we are loosing ground in comparison to MSFS.

This sim has great potentials, but everybody is avoiding those potentials like they are diseased :(

Future of DCS series seems promising, having newer modern aircraft is quite unlikely 'cause of the unavailability of data but older 3rd gen fighters are very much declassified these days so I doubt it's gonna be difficult to fully implement MiG-21bis into DCS. However by the time Fishbed gets it's module CroAF is gonna switch to other more modern fighters or completely disband it's fighter fleet...We're talking 2/3 years from now!

P.S.

Renato are you in any of the pics?!

Perhaps we could meet for a cup of coffe this week?
