idreamofire Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Hi, I recently bought the DCS A 10 game and am trying to install on my PC but right after the setup starts I get a runtime error (at27:121): List index out of bounds message. I proceed with the setup, but after it is completed When I try to run the game the program locks up and says (not responding). I cant even make it to the product key entry point. I am using windows Vista. I am not well versed with computers so I dont know what other information to give you.

When you select a mission and go to load it it will ask for your "key" and then load once its been entered. just remember that it is not a finished product and some things work and some dont, so dont freak! using the search function can help you a lot, and people wont get on your case cause they think you are being lazy. all of the info you need has been posted before, just though i would tell you before the the STFF and the RTFM hammer comes out. 1 Action After Contemplation
MTFDarkEagle Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Yeah for some reason the forum won't allow me access to my previous post. It's been moved to the open beta section. idreamofire Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Ok so I did search on the problem and found the bit on leaving the binding screen up for at least 15 min. I have let it sit for 30 min now. the screen changed to a blacked out box and no response. I can't find anything else on this. Any ideas or ideas where I can find the answer?
Echonomix Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Do you have the complete beta 4 installer or are you applying all the patches? When exactly does that error occur? Irregular programming Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Go to start then type dxdiag in the search bar and press enter. In the window popping up hit the "Save all information" button and select a location to save to. Open the file you just saved and copy the text under System Information and Display Devices part of the file here. If your computer is up to specs I'd venture a guess on that you have an old graphics card driver. 1

power5 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 My user account is admin on my computer. I have never "run as admin" when opening any DCS product. A laptop without a dedicated video card, is not going to be able to run DCS. Well, if you can get to run it will be a slide show even at the lowest settings possible. Read system requirements completely before purchasing any PC game. Usually you want to be near the recommended system specs for the most enjoyable experience. EtherealN Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 The "run as admin" thing depends a lot on install directory. If you install into the Program Files directory (standard) and have the UAC feature in windows active then you should be required to use the admin thing even if you are logged in as administrator. (This is the main part of the feature - requiring your explicit authorization for potentially system-threatening operations no matter if you are admin or not.) If you have UAC disabled this will not apply (but then you do not enjoy the added protection of this feature in Vista/7). Midwestboi Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Q: What are the system requirements? A: Final system requirements and recommendations when the product is closer to completion. I certainly hope that once the final version is released that the "recommended" system won't be as extreme as a $900 i7-970 processor. There seems to be a huge disparity between the minimal and recommended requirements... and this is probably helping lead to a lot of the confusion for people wondering whether or not it will run on their systems. Obviously, it will run on one of the fastest processors available- but surely with the current stage of beta, couldn't the 'recommended system' be adjusted a little more realistically?
