SovietAviator Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I recently ordered LOMAC and FC2 on Amazon and i just got what im guessing is LOMAC in the mail today. It says Lock On Air Combat Simulation on the front. Is this the same thing as LOMAC? even if it isn't will it still work with the FC2 expansion? I also apologize for my noobness, I'm just getting into Lock On. I took the plastic wrap off it but im not going to install it if I don't think it is LOMAC.
Kuky Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 yes it's the same thing LOMAC = Lock On Modern Air Combat No longer active in DCS...
golfsierra2 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Lock-On Modern Air Combat (LOMAC) is the original, first version. Two patches available, latest version 1.02. Stand-alone simulation, runs out-of-the-box. Flaming Cliffs is an add-on to LOMAC. Needs LOMAC installation as a requirement. Several patches available, latest version 1.12b. Flaming Cliffs 2 is a new version of the add-on, also needs LOMAC installation as requirement. Compatible with the first module of the LOMAC successor Digital Combat Simulation (DCS) Black Shark (helicopter simulation, Russian KA-50). kind regards, Raven.... Konovalov Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 SovertAviator, My advise is to install Lockon (LOMAC) disc but DO NOT run the game. You only want to install this on your system for one reason only in my opinion. That reason is to allow you to install Flaming Cliffs 2 (FC2). Flaming Cliffs 2 is a stand alone simulation and it only requires you to have Lockon installed on your machine before you can install and run FC2. FC2 is totally separate from Lockon and should not be installed in the same folder as Lockon. In fact once you have installed FC2 there is nothing to stop you from uninstalling the original Lockon sim. One other thing, if you have purchased the Flaming Cliffs 2 disc then you will not need to patch it as the hard copy disc is already patched to version 1.2.1. Actually one other tip is that not all the training videos are included on the disc install. So you will have to download the other training ones and install into FC2. Enjoy. Intel i7-8700K | Asus Maximus X Formula | Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | Gainward Phoenix GTX1070 GLH | Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 1 x 250GB OS & 1 x 500GB Games | Corsair RM750x 750W | Corsair Carbide Air 540| Win10 | Dell 27" 1440p 60Hz | Custom water loop: CPU EK-Supremacy EVO, GPU EK-GTX JetStream - Acetal+Nickel & Backplate, Radiator EK-Coolstream PE 360, Pump & Res EK-XRES 140 Revo D5, Fans 3 x EK-Vardar 120mm & 2 x Corsair ML140 140mm
