JonK
I'm curious how the A10C manages to operate in foul weather. Specifically, the Mission Generator threw me into a situation where the base clouds were at an insane 900 feet. Trying to see out in front by more than a mile with the TGP was impossible, which made target runs incredibly challenging. Is the A10C made for this type of environment? With the technology it has onboard, I'm finding that even heavy cloud cover such as what I encountered renders it all useless.
AlphaOneSix
Anything that requires you to have a visual on the target is useless...however, if a ground controller is able to pass to you a set of grid coordinates for a target that he can see visually, then you can drop a JDAM on it without ever seeing it. Ragtop
IR TGP ;) The A-10 has been used extensively in low visibility weather from what I've read, the pilots just have to improvise! 476th vFG Alumni
scoochy
IR is unable to penetrate the cloud cover.
