Captcha on Forums

Hi Guys,

 

This may have been pointed out before (apologies if so), but the Captcha displaying letters on the forum search function is almost impossible to read! It makes searching the forums a nightmare, I need to enter at least 5 or 6 different combinations in order to get my forum search results.

 

Surely I'm not the only person to experience this?

 

(i'd search the forums to see if this had been picked up on already but that may take a while)

Thanks for your input on that, but unfortunately we had to change the captcha text onto the "strong" level, to get rid of the massive automatic bot spam which occured some two weeks ago.

 

We hope to tone it down again as soon as possible.

A little tip- I refresh the captcha image often (when I'm not logged in) until it is understandable to me.

Captcha has been pretty much cracked by spam bots unfortunately, the simple one line question option instead of captcha has cut the ammount of spam bots on my forum by at least 80%

ReCaptcha is a pretty good one to use. I don't think anyone has been able to get a machine to read it yet.

isn't it amazing how much trouble these guys will go through to post nonsense.. If these are manual registrations- truly pathetic..

 

I hope no one on this board is dumb enough to click on any of these links..
