The good news, looks like all the geometry in the bottom is textured so it can be removed or made transparent.

 

Bad news that means the Avenger and some of the sides on the aircraft probably wont have textures so i guess its a sacrifice.

 

If you want a full nose on there it will take me a little while to model.

I would settle for just the HUD and the wings appearing when I look back, but I think you've taken it as far as it can go. This is something we probably have to wait for ED to possibly code. Thanks man.

I like it .... just clean up the artwork and it will be good.

I tested for a while, and love having the empty pit!

 

Also, I like have the nose section and the gun... you can see it spin when you shoot. So, maybe if we can take off panels and hide the mfd and other info, it will be perfect.

I'll see what i can do.

 

Would probably be best to disable all the panels/info in the lua file so they dont render twice to save a few frames, i'll include the files. I'm assuming most of you will be adding all the cdu and such trough the monitor files in any case.

 

I'll sort a pit version with them out of the way as well.

 

One question tho, by panels do you mean the ones below you and the one to the right of the cannon on these pictures ?

Hey Trigen , I'm using Ice's easy monitor congfi program....

 

The info such as cmsp, rwr, clock have been re-sized/moved in the cockpit lom. Is there a way to leave them in the same place as the default cockpit, but hide them like the mfd's?

Without knowing exactly how he removed them all you should have to do is comment (--) the render you don't want displayed.

i can sort the sizes n such, was a little rush job as i had to be away for a bit.

 

And yes i threw them onto the side, i'll look into it tonight and add it to the aprox positions. And its easy to sort with lua later as Ice says.

 

Edit: Perhaps Ice can add that as an option (hiding) in his configurator

cool, prob will not be an issue as longs as the extractions are in there orig position and size, then can be hidden.

 

I do like the cockpit though!!

Ran into a bit of a snag, need to recover and sort 2 Tb's of data so will be a day delay on this one, hopefully i'll recover the files i need so i dont have to start over.

Try this one, most should be in their correct positions (few pixels off here and there) . Havent had a chance to test it myself with Icemakers util

Ok, the exports are all good except the cmsc which is a little big... otherwise good to go

 

Now, using with Helios I'm not receiving the gear lights, flap indicator, bottom third of the caution panel lights, and gun/steer anunc. It has been doing this ever since, but I wonder how removing cockpit parts affect the export lua?...

Ok, not to worrie i've figured out why, looked a little in the exports file and it seems it takes the arguments from the pit file itself, if the argument is not in the pit file it wont work.

 

From the looks of it the gauges etc are taken more directly whilst the lights etc is not.

 

In any case its a bit of a tedious job to enter all the arguments below into the pit file and sort the geometry it needs to work but i'll get on it, guess this project got a little bigger than i tought

At long last it came .. ;)

 

Have tested it a little bit and so far i havent found any bugs other than the sizing might be slightly off.

 

ToDo :

 

Bugg Icemaker to make an on-off switch for his easy configurator so that we dont have to edit the files to turn off fks the mfd in the pit ;) (going to have to do this yourself for now)

 

Fix textures to see if i can get rid of the things in the way inside the cockpit. (temporary sollution)

 

Build a10 pit, add textures and add visibility track for turning the pit on and off in a alt-f1 manner. (this is going to take a while)
