dandebo Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Hey, I have been working my way through the training missions. And i have to say I think they are very poor. I managed the start up, take off, manoeuvres, and landing all fine. But i keep having problems with the systems. the main issues are that. while following the instructor, sometimes he says to set a switch which i think i do ok. but it doesn't seem to register. and then the txt telling me what to do disappears. then leaving me with no clue if i did everything right. Is there any way to bring the last instruction back up ? or to cycle through them ? because then nothing happens as the game waits for me to press a button or something. so then i have to quit out and start again. sitting through him ramble on about all the weapons and blah blah. and also would be possible to look at the controls options in game ? its a pain having to quit to main menu, check what key does what then back into the game. I am loving the A-10 so much, but i really thing the training lessons could be better. Especially how most people get there head round the game from them. Thanks:cry::cry:
nomdeplume Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Nope, and some of the triggers in some of the missions aren't working quite correctly, I'm sure they'll be fixed. Generally speaking, your best bet is to wait until near the end of the speech recording, and then when you activate the control in question, hold it down for a bit longer than you normally would. Sometimes the tutorial triggers won't register a quick press of a button, even though it works.
EvilBivol-1 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 dandebo, which version of the sim are you playing and could you be more specific about what problems and when you encountered? Also note, you can play through the missions rather quickly by simply accelerating time if you wish to get a point further in the mission. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. MajorMorningWood Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) When instructed to slew cursor on the HUD and designate ground as target, TMS Forward does not work with default key (up, lctrl) or by assigned HOTAS button. I started an instant action mission and TMS forward works fine, just does not work in that training mission. I forgot to add that I think I am using beta 4, just downloaded last night Feb 14 Edited February 13, 2011 by MajorMorningWood
El_Roto Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 You have to slew the cursor down to near the bottom of the windscreen in order for your DESIGNATE command to work. That tripped me up several times before I figured it out. Not to mention the training mission has you at 17000 feet, and my quick mission started at 5000. I just needed a phone book under my ass to slew the box that low in the HUD.
