mvsgas Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Case in point http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/airframe-profile/3123/ Home from hunting NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE Nev.-- An F-16C from the 64th Aggressor Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., lands following a Red Flag 09-5 training mission Aug 26. Utilizing tactics that U.S. and coalition partners may encounter when facing an enemy force, the Aggressors, coupled with a wide range of advanced ground threat systems, make Red Flag one of the toughest and most realistic air combat training exercises in the world. The two-week exercise is conducted over the 15,000-square-mile Nevada Test and Training Range north of Las Vegas and is just one in a series of advanced training programs offered by the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center. U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marines Corps units from Nevada, Massachusetts, Utah, Louisiana, California, Washington, Oklahoma, Florida and Kansas are participating in Red Flag 09-5 along with allied forces from Italy and the United Arab Emirates. The exercise ends Sept. 4. (U. S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael R. =Panther= Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I hate to brake it up to you but that is definitely a block 40/42. If you have a bigger version of photo #1 we can see the tail number... but that is a block 40/42 That's not what the AC forms said for that particular aircraft, it was clearly labeled a CJ. But who knows, I seen many frankenvipers in my days. mvsgas Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) That's not what the AC forms said for that particular aircraft, it was clearly labeled a CJ. But who knows, I seen many frankenvipers in my days. What was the tail number? In 14 Years I never seen a big HUD in anything but blk 40/42, not saying that it is impossible, just never seen it. What form said it was a "CJ"? The H, the K, the A? Looking at the photos you posted it has to be a 42 since it has a PW engine RPM gauge. Old 42 also, before CCIP Edited February 13, 2011 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. =Panther= Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 What was the tail number? Heck if know, that was 3 years ago when I was still at Nellis. All forms said CJ from cover to H, A, and K. Oh well I don't care what aircraft it is, was, I just know I no longer have to touch another POS aircraft. mvsgas Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Ok, do happen to have a bigger forward looking photo like the first one? What squadron/ AMU were part of? I know a couple of guys that where in Falcon, not sure if they are still at Nellis. I know a couple of guys that where in Falcon, not sure if they are still at Nellis. There is no Falcon squadron. It's Viper and Tomahawk for the F-16's. Viper had the older Block 30's and Tomahawk had the newer block 50's.
