You dont really notice it after a while but it depends on the game ofcourse.

 

 

As for 5 in portrait i'd say it depends as much on your monitor quality as anything else. my cheap benq 2420 view aspect is really poor for that kind of setup so to any byers make sure you pay attention to that if your going for 5, they also tend to flicker (like you have no vsync) when moving the view sadly.

 

The main reason i dont run it tho is due to my formation flying, there the bezel is in the worst possible position

I agree. 3x2 is very good. But you get the horizontal line blezels divide the cockpit view (external view) of the Instruments view. If the horizontal line blezels interferes with the external view, it becomes uncomfortable.

 

In my experience, the main drawback of the portrait mode is that the monitors support a major shift in viewing angle, when they are horizontal. But vertex, the shift from a view should be done a minimum, as it darkens the picture. Especially in the farthest to the left.

 

In a 3x1 portrait is not a problem, but in a 5x1 can be. Although in practice, in a 5x1, the monitors side (1 & 5) only provide peripheral vision, very important indeed.

 

My theory, and experience, the best basic mode, is 3x1 Portrait, from this you can expand or not ... ;)
