How To Keep Control Settings?

I am almost finished with the RC download.

 

Is there a way to save my control settings from Beta 2 (yes, I never did update as I only heard problems from 3 and 4), and impliment them to the RC?

 

If I can avoid having to reprogram all the buttons, that'd be great!

I tried in input Bauers .LUA and got a CTD so not sure if exporting from BETA will work.

 

I'm going for a full reassign... wanted to do some stuff differently anyway, but cannot locate a full release keyboard printout. If anyone has one then would be nice to have!

Be advised importing the profile DOES work, found another thread regarding the crash, turns out you need to remove ALL BINDINGS FOR YOUR JOYSTICK before you import the profile.

The problem is not if it works, the problem is creating unsuspected bugs because the files from the betas are parsed differently.

 

Unless someone from ED comes here and say that some files are ok to re-use because nothing changed, fine. But a tester just said not recommended. The time you save may not be enough compared to the trouble you can get later.

For every Beta all I did was back up my Config/Input folder and drop it in to the next build. Never had any trouble, either. With the release version, though, i'll be starting from scratch, just to be safe. Only takes 5 minutes to re-map the controls from memory so there's no point risking a ton of hassle.

Correct. 5 min to redo everything and be safe :)
