Okay - maybe I've missed the official instructions - they're have been an awful lot of forum posts in the last 24 hours and I haven't read them all...

I've got the Beta 4 release - so I've pre-purchased the final release. Here's what I've tried - going to the download menu (left side of A10 page) downloaded the 1.86MB setup file via HTTP server 2. No problem it downloaded. If I try and download the bin files it opens the purchase page - I've logged in. What am I supposed to do?

FTP doesn't seem to work - it doesn't recognize my DCS login.

An official step-by-step sticky would be helpful (assuming I haven't missed it in the forum)

If the FTP requests a login it only means that the FTP is still overloaded with everyone trying to DL.

I recommend the torrent.

The http/ftp servers are overloaded, thats why you are being asked for a password. Dont' bother trying to enter one it won't work.

Your best bet is the torrent.

EDIT: typing as EtherealN was posting.

Hi

Ftp has been overloaded and it also wouldn't recognise my login, i installed a Torrent client (utorrent) and downloaded it that way, (bottom of download page), worked great and have been flying tonight.

First time i've used a torrent client and worked well!!

What's a torrent?

Not really interested in installing some third-party client - is it safe?

Utorrent is perfectly safe, Google it.

Bonus is it checks the downloaded files and makes sure they are valid.
