MonnieRock Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Hello Everyone, Does anyone know how to set the affinity of cpu01 with a command line switch/arguement. Due to my ignorance, I do not know how to use Procaff or get it set up. Also, I would like something setup to that I can have Hyperlobby start the game with the affinity in place since multiplay is the whole issue. Zero issues with single player . Thanks Monnie Hello Monnie, There is no way to set affinity of cpu01 using windows-build-in-command. This is why I used procaff. To set affinity of CPU01 using procaff on LOMAC, do the follows: 1. Download procaff from here : http://www.stefan-kuhr.de/procaff/main.php3 2. Extract the procaff.zip into the folder of LOMAC installed. 3. Right click the shortcut of LOMAC and select "property" from context menu. 4. Add the words "procaff /run 2 " before "[the pass of LOMAC installed folder]\LOCKON.EXE" ex. If you install LOMAC in "C:\Program files\Lock On\", change the link of LOMAC's shortcut "C:\Program files\Lock On\LOCKON.EXE" to procaff /run 2 "C:\Program files\Lock On\LOCKON.EXE" Try it!
Prophet_169th Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Does anyone know how to get this to work with HyperLobby?
zorlac Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Does anyone know how to get this to work with HyperLobby? Do the same instructions as above, but for the Hyperlobby application. When HL fires up and starts Lockon, the CPU affinity is inherited from HL, and so Lockon will only run on one CPU. (Thats how I have it on the VVS504 server)
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 rgr, thats what i had to do, do it to hl and lockon as when i did it to lockon only, and then used hl to open lockon it would still stutter.
Prophet_169th Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 SWEET! Thanks. Also a comment. MonnieRock, you say that you are too ignorant to use Procaff, but ask for a command line switch. Have you actually read the instructions for the procaff setup? Because its just a command line edit/switch once the program is put in /windows
AlphaInfinity Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I have a dual core box with a 7900, 2 gigs of ram, SATA, and I still get the stutter. It is really irritating because it takes away from the game. You would think that I would be able to run at high res/full detail with that setup. This is a code problem. ALDEGA Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 The hyperthreading CPUs are a work-a-round to Intel being stuck with only selling the Itanium as 64bit.I don't get what you mean. Intel has been selling x64 desktop CPU's for quite a while, after AMD started selling their AMD64 x64 CPU's. The 64-bit Itanium (high-end server platform) is not the same platform as x64 (which is basically the 32-bit x86 platform with 64-bit extensions).
