OA-10 JTAC

My wish list is very simple, really.

Matt Wagner talked about a A-10 Upgrade Pack in his interview for VE3D. Whatever that means, I just hope that an OA-10 JTAC aircraft to be modeled.

 

But instead of a AI controlled aircraft, YOU being the JTAC. Armed with the TGP, loads of WP and IR rockets. They are there, modeled, ready to be used.

 

This would be the greatest thing for Multiplayer. A guy comes in and checks in, you have to take note of what he is carrying. Then you would designate his target, get the coordinates right (the TAD and the CDU are very powerful tools already available) and in some way you assemble a 9-line-briefing and send it to another player.

Or just forget about this, you read it to the guy and he reads back to you.

And then YOU send a message via Data Link. The way it could be assembled is by a menu similar to the radio menu we already have.

And, for the grand finale, you could designate the targets for him, by rockets or by IR or by Laser.

I don't know if something similar has been already done in Lock-On.

 

I had this idea when I was reading some posts about UTM/MM coordinates and how people get entagled in them. I thought that if by being a JTAC someone would put that knowledge to good use.

 

Actually, what would be really cool is if you could be the JTAC on the ground, in a HMMWV, armed with a GPS and a laser designator. But that would be in the realm of something close to ArmaII; don't believe that ED would take the time to model something like this.

You can do all that now (well ok, datalink doesn't work in MP at the moment, but it will).

 

The OA-10 is just a normal A-10 that is flying a AFAC mission, there is no difference in the aircraft at all.

A-ha! Time to fix it then mate! LOL. When the patch comes out :D then broadcasting my SPI to another player would do the trick?
