Legolasindar Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Updating my Cougar profile for the final release version, i found one problem. I think set snapviews for MFD's, Lateral Panels and CDU in the H3+S3 of the Cougar, but Snapviews only run and hold if before active with RCTL+Num0. Others sims have snapview holded without need activation snapview, my suggestion is keyset for snapview holded without activation. For example you are using you TrackIR and press RWIN+Num6, this set Snapview in right MFD and hold this view, if you press same key, return to normal view of TrackIR. GregP Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) If I understand you correctly, I've got the functionality you're looking for in my Cougar profile simply by combining the 'snap view toggle' command with a delayed 'specific snap view' command. Try this in your button assignment in the TMM file, using Left MFCD as an example: Zoom_left_MFCD = {RCTL KP0} DELAY(50) KP4 Cockpit_panel_view_toggle = {RCTL KP0} And this in your TMJ file: BTN H3U /O /T Zoom_left_MFCD /T Cockpit_panel_view_toggle It's not a perfect solution, as sometimes pressing H3U will only do the 'snap view toggle' command instead of both that and the KP4 command ... you have to sort of 'nudge' H3U again after pressing and holding it up in order to get the KP4 part to work. Might be easier to use method below, actually, now that I think more about it. Edited March 9, 2011 by GregP
GregP Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 By the way, I think I also read recently that the release version has added LWin+KPx as being equivalent to RCTL+KP0 and then KPx, which would be a simpler way to solve your problem above.
Thermal Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 the release version has added LWin+KPx as being equivalent to RCTL+KP0 and then KPx, Correct. LWin+KPx snaps to the view for as long as the key is pressed. With a HOTAS however, using this is ill advised, as you'll be watching the MFCD/Snapview and issuing commands while the LWin key depressed, possibly causing randomness. Its probably better to make your HOTAS do RCtrl+KP0 (Delay) KPx upon button press and then RCtrl+KP0 to de-snap upon release of the button. (I have it set as a toggle, first press for snap, second de-snap).

Currently the only reliable solution is to use on my profile. All these solutions give me, I thank you, not working properly. As I say they are already more than proven, the problem is the simulator itself, and can not be solved with Foxy. Zeke Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Viper, I've been using your profile, thanks for it. I've noticed that sometimes I can snap to the MFDs, sometimes I cannot. Here is what I do: I press the H3 button with the S3 pressed in to get the front snap view, then I hit either H3 L or R to get the MFDs, sometimes I can, sometimes it will not work. Is there a sure fire way to get it to work every time? Surely I must be doing something wrong. On a side note, how can this sim NOT have a snap view for MFDs and such easily modeled from the start? Weird.

Weird. Before use L o R, you need press 'H3 Up + S3' (Toggle Snap), this button active/desactive Snap views. Yes, sometimes not work well, is rare error of the DCS:WH. I tried diferents methods for this fuction, and ever sometimes run and sometimes not. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
Temp Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 +1 for being able to bind a single key to toggle a switch to snap view/switch back to cockpit/trackir view.
