epokha Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Hey everyone, I've been looking everywhere for some data on SAM systems modelled in A10c final, but I can't for the life of me find any compiled information. I know there is a lot of information for F16AF and the like, but im looking for something more specific (if it exists). I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious! Sick of getting my ass handed to me and doing the ground level shuffle! I would totally be up for converting any information into the DCS: Wiki if the author agrees. I think that would be a really good resource for new pilots looking for that tiny scrap of information they missed in the manual (like myself, a life-time flight-sim tragic). If anybody reading this wants to attach stuff they have written, (regarding anything DCS) ill chuck it in the wiki :D Thanks guys! And thanks to the DCS developers/testers! Keep up the good work! LordWolf Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 There's data in the ingame enciclopedia, but you have to know that sams usualy let you in the envelope so you have less time to react/outmanouver the missile. If you're gona make a list, be sure to include the hieght and take a picture of the envelope in the editor (So we have a better understanding of it's range)
epokha Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Yep. I'll also include the NATO reporting name. 636_Castle Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) Do any old F4 pilots remember the "Show threat circles" feature in the mission planner? That was really helpful. The DCS mission planner appears to have threat circles too, but there's no filter/legend and I really can't gather anything from it. I think the F-16 had that avionic feature too where it displayed the known SAM threat circles on the TAD. That'd really be useful for the A-10. I guess the A10C has the luxury of having a million SEAD planes looking after it :P Ill have a look at what data is on there, I should be able to make some pretty pictures.
