Collection of typos/errors in training mission text

Hi!

 

I am collecting typos/errors I found in the training missions. I'd like to see them fixed in an upcoming patch.

 

 

UPDATE! Some of the typos/errors have been fixed in the latest patch v1.1.0.7. Errors that have now been fixed are marked in GREEN, those who are still present in v1.1.0.7 are marked in RED. Newly added typos are marked in BLACK.

 

 

1. A-10C Familiarization

 

1.1 Introduction to the A-10C Training Mission

1. Your jet is waiting is waiting on the ramp, so let's get to it. → Your jet is waiting on the ramp …

2. … backup systems that keep the A-10 flying even after sever (→ severe) battle damage.

 

 

2. Aircraft Operation

 

2.1 Aircraft Start-Up Training Mission

1. Taxing (-> Taxiing) out to the runway requires tower permission...

2. As the engine spools up, scan the Engine Monitoring Instruments panel to watch the Engine Interstage Turbine (-> two spaces between the words, remove one) Temperature (ITT), ...

Typo in mission description (file "lesson.lua"):

2.3 Navigation Training Mission

1. The (→ 2 spaces between the words, remove one) primary navigation system of the A-10C is the …

2. ..., however they are designed to work together to provide accurate word-wide (→ world-wide) position and ...

2.4 Landing Training Mission

3.2 AN/AAQ-28 LITENING-II Training Mission

2. OSB-5 (-> 6) toggles LSS mode. OSB-6 (-> 7) selects between Laser, IR Pointer and BOTH designation modes.

 

 

3.3 GAU-8/A and Unguided Rockets Training Mission

1. Press the HOTAS DMS RIGHT command or PAGE-DOWN on the keybaord (-> keyboard) to select the 4,000 ft. Gun Cross sight.

2. The CCIP Gun Reticle also features a numerical indication of the slant range to target in nautical miles (-> two spaces between the words, remove one) below the reticle.

3. Let's bring up CCIP mode to review (-> two spaces between the words, remove one) HUD indication used for unguided rockets.

4. Roll in on the (-> two spaces between the words, remove one) target and strike down upon it...

 

 

3.4 General Purpose Bombs Training Mission

3.6 AGM-65 Maverick Training Mission

2. Make the Maverick SOI by pressing the HOTAS Coolie Switch (-> Hat) RIGHT (long) command ...

3. press the HOTAS China Hat AFT (short) command or the C (-> key) on the keyboard.

 

 

3.7 Air-to-Air Training Mission

1. ... maintain the reticle over the target for a valid lock prior to lunch (-> launch).

2. Right-click the IFFC (-> IFFCC) switch on the AHCP ...

 

 

3.8 Countermeasures Training Mission

1. The Countermeasures Set (CMS) of the A-10C includes: the Countermeasure (-> Countermeasures) Set Control (CMSC) panel on the front dash

2. Now (two spaces, remove one) press the NXT rocker key UP twice to set the flare release quantity for this program to 2.

3. Press the RTN button (two spaces, remove one) to store the changes and return to the status screen.

4. The JTSN/OFF switch (two spaces, remove one) to the right of the select buttons is used to enable the jettison of the ECM pod

lesson.lua: name = 'Countermeasures(CMS)', -> name = 'Countermeasures (CMS)' (insert a space before the brackets)

Up or Forward

 

While you are correcting things. One thing that I found slightly disconcerting at first (now I just translate in my head) is that the training instructor refers to TMS Forward as TMS Up, for example, and uses Down instead of Aft. I just found it odd after reading the manual for quite a while:book: and then doing the training to be told to do a 'whatever' Up and having to pause for a moment since Up did not compute immediately.:huh:

 

A very minor point I admit.
