Hi!

I am just practicing BS in its absolute basics.

As my flying gets better and better, I wanted to take a look at the weapons.

First of all, I read the section concerning the cannon. I wanted to give it a few rounds, but i am completely unable to fire it.

I followed the steps in the manual, tried the automatic and the manual mode, bt no matter what I chose, when I hit the trigger, nothing happens.

What are the essential steps in using the gun?

Thanks in advance and greets,

Michael

Hmmm, thanks for the fast reply!

I never pressed C.

There is a C displayed in the SHKVAL, and I thought that this would mean that I am actually in cannon mode...

So, that might be my fault!

That did the trick!

Thank you so much!

Now to a different question:

How can I assign a button to the movement of the SHKVAL?

Right now, it is only possible to assign an axis to that function.

But I´d like to be able to assign the 4 way controller on the back of my X 52 throttle to the SHKVAL movement.

Thanks in advance!

You should probably do the training missions or RTFM

Don't be so hard on the guy, it's an easy mistake to make!

Just set . , / ; (the default slew buttons) to the HAT. Also, make combinations such as /; (up right) /. (down right) ,. (down left) ,;(up left) so that you have 8 axis of movement on the shkval, for easier paning.

Welcome on-board! Have patience and check the training or the manual too. Black Shark is hard to learn but you 'll feel great when you start doing so!

That moment where you fire a vikhr, and instead of going in a straight line and crashing into the ground, you can see it spiral towards your target...that's what made me feel like "oh yeah, chika-chika"

Hi! You're right Rusty_M, this sim is absolutely awsome.

I just bought DCS A 10C a while ago. But since I am a huge chopper-fan I had to buy Black Shark too.

It could be a little bit too much to learn, but I've been never so motivated to learn a simulator before. I really like my VRS Superbug, but DCS is much

more than a game, its immersion is outstanding!

And the community is very kind and helpful, perfect!

I am already looking forward to my first online-flights!

Always good to have you rotorheads on board

DCS:BS is truly a remarkable product:

Starting from clueless, after flying Black Shark without AP channels for about half a year, I had a Trial Introduction Flight in a Schweizer 300 CBi. The instructor assessed my flying skills and then handed me full control to do basic manoeuvres, hold stabile hover and I even did a half decent spot-turn! We were both impressed and needless to say, super excited :D

If all else fails, on the weapons board just above the collective are four switches. The left most one says auto or manual. If you can't fire, flip it to manual and the computer will stop analyzing whether it is realistic to fire at the target or not. Sometimes, I think the computer itself gets a little unrealistic. Especially with the rockets and cannons.

I do believe that you mean the leftmost switch among the row of switches in front of the cyclic, the former of which is part of the group of switches under the shkval display.
