The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Also, make sure, especially when you are hotplugging your drives that the signal cables(SATA) always go in before the power cables.

That is another thing, make sure you are putting your power cable all the way in on your drive(s). I know when I built this system, the power cables took a lot of pressure to insert correctly, and they had no satisfying "click" to say that they were in there; so I just had to kind of play it by eye.

Oh, and thanks for the info EtherealN, I heard a lot about in the tech news about the recall, but had no information that they had already formed a solution. I guess I was too interested in their new I7-990X(Still support triple channel RAM :)) to care much about the new 2k series chips(I don't like them going back to dual channel) :P

Well, remember that the current sandy bridge releases aren't even meant to replace the 9xx line. 1155 replaces 1156, with the future 2011 being the replacement for 1366, complete with triple channel. So it's not that they are "going back", it's that they haven't released the "top-line" Sandy Bridge products yet.

That said, 990X is overpriced crud for almost any application a consumer would use it for. If you play games (including ED simulators) as your main computer activity you are paying 5 times the price for identical or lower performance. Triple channel RAM isn't going to have any real impact on your game performance. Hell, in Metro 2033 the 1156 CPU 875K actually beats it, and that's old gen and dual-channel at the same time! :P

I see your point, thanks for the info. Looks like my CPU will still be rockin' it for at least a year to come :)

EDIT: Ughh... I just realized that in a year I will have to replace almost everything inside my computer... Maybe I should have been Amish :P
