mia389 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 First, I think this is the right place. I didnt see an editior forum for DCS A10 I'm having problems trying to figure out the waypoint triggers and conditions. I have a waypoint for a plane and I have it set to orbit. I have a trigger that sets flag 5 to true. How do I get the waypoint condition to know that flag 5 is true? I would also like to know the opposite as well. Plane gets to waypoint and on activation sets flag 6 to true? Once I learn this part it will give me some more control.
MadTommy Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 There is a sub forum section here...Mission Editor Issues. Your question is a little unclear, waypoints have little to do with triggers & conditions. You can use triggers in advanced waypoint options to turn advanced option on & off. Are you trying to get the plane to stop orbiting when a flag is true? Maybe you can describe what you are trying to do again.. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. mia389 Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 Thanks for the link. Any yes about the plane to proceed on waypoints once trigger/flag is true. The plane will take off the orbit at a waypoint until trigger get activated. After that it will continue on its waypoint.

Grimes Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Ah that is simple. At the waypoint you want the aircraft to orbit at simply give it an orbit command. Under start conditions check the time box. The default time is whatever the units expected ETA to that waypoint is, and think of it as "if the current time is after the listed time > Perform task" Now under the stop condition you want to check "Is User Flag" on the left. Make sure the other options are unchecked. (Usually duration is checked by default) Put whatever flag # you want the condition to be based on. The checkbox on the right side of the box determines whether the flag needs to be true or false. True = Checked False = Unchecked So make sure its checked. Now in the triggers you will need to set the flag to true whenever you want it to continue on with its flight plan. And thats it. 1 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. mia389 Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 TY Grimes, That is exactly what I needed! That helps me understand that part much better. I knew it had to be something simple
Grimes Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 No problem. Just so you know the aircraft will have a few fall back behaviors that execute if the "Stop orbit" condition is never met. Essentially if it starts to run low on fuel and a tanker is present and it can do mid-air refueling, it will make its way to the tanker and top off. If it can't, it will just fly back to base. 1 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
