jeffyd123 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) EDIT: added approximately 50 more units in a new mission (version 2 below) for a total of about 135 enemies. This is more suited to MP sessions of 4 or more. Made another mission for 10 players and for Single Player... Its based on a theoretical recreation of Operation Odyssey Dawn in Libya. Keep the armor from entering Sukhumi, there are about 85 enemy troops and armor advancing on the rebels. Some are moving and some are static so search for them. Full brief is included... jeffyd123 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 we dont need to change the others from "client"? Will it crash like that? i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor
Grimes Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It works fine. The only "issue" would be that you'd have parking spots taken up for aircraft that will never spawn in SP. But that isn't exactly game-breaking. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. jeffyd123 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 wanna make a single player version? BTW, you can simply load this as a multiplayer mission in a locked server and play it by yourself anytime. If you dont want the server to show just select the "LAN" option and it wont go online at all. i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor

Bahger Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Jeff, may I offer a little constructive criticism? I played the mission. It's enjoyable and the essential premise is a good one. I have the following reservations: - I don't think it's realistic to put A-10s up against Tungustas without SEAD cover, especially when you are recommending a bombing ceiling of 9000ft. Playing hide-and-seek with SA-19s is fun, but it's not tactically believable given the kind of resources that the U.S. military goes to war with. - In converting the mission to SP, you should include an AI wingman for the player. - The briefing lacks essential information re. callsigns and frequencies. - The battlefield is somewhat under-populated, given the number and density of the targets. I would expect another flight of attackers, an AFAC flight, maybe even artillery support. I realise, though, that it's a hasty conversion of an MP sortie. Missions simulating modern air-to-ground combat should feel like a cooperative effort in which the player is one cog in a larger fighting machine, not one Hog pilot against the world. Will probably play it again later this weekend. Maybe the experience of the mission in MP is different; it's certainly target-rich and quick to get into the action. My main reservation concerns the Hog vs SA-19 scenario.
jeffyd123 Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) Thanks Bagher, I appreciate the input buuuuuuuuuddy. I make my missions fairly basic to be stable and for the main reason that Im not very advanced in the ME. I do find Im missing callsigns and other things too... Im sloooowwwwlllly getting better LOL. I mainly focus on getting the Steerpoints accurate. My missions are primarily made to be MP although I play them as SP while building them so I try to get a feel for the difficulty and timings. I didnt include wingmen in SP because I wasnt sure if SP pilots would want them or not... From my readings and SP experience, I dont like how the SP wingies have superhuman powers and kill everything before you can find anything on the pod. The other thing is my missions are made to entertain my friends I fly with a lot and they get grumpy if i dont make new stuff up for them... as such i make them with only about 3 hours or so of work and leave out a lot of depth. I Just churn 'em out... Iv'e found that most people dont really give a crap about how much detail is in it anyway. I guess you could think of them as play a couple times and then move on to another one.... the "Yugo" of missions LOL ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This mission doesnt have any coalition assistance on the ground (trying to simulate the real op). So the theory is the fast movers have taken out "most" of the Surface-To-Air threats and now its time to "send in the A-10s to take out the ground units". As far as the SA-19, i did consider whether or not to put it (only 1) in there, but I decided to to keep the mission a bit "off balance" for the player(s). I have defeated the SA-19 as a SP and with wingies in MP so its not realisitic but it just some added difficulty for the player. Plus, my missions try to keep to a theme of a bit of chaos and not necessarily exactly to military planning and execution. My other mission, Surf-N-Turf, is fairly complex (about 85 enemies and a couple of surprises), it also has friendly armor moving through the target areas and taking out enemies. I gotta get your mission and check it out... i tried the early version and i couldnt do the JTAC right or something. I want to hear how those voices came out. Thanks again for the comments my friend Jeff Edited March 26, 2011 by jeffyd123 i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor

dne48 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I tried this in SP by making a client plane, the player (me) but what is the sense if you are the only one flying? Impossible to think about completing. If i give it a try in the "lan" mode and fly single player will I have other ai aircraft such as wingman and other squad mates accompany me? Or is this truly a multi-player mission? Thanks "To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home."-----anonymous
