Chris CDN Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 anyone know if u can toggle the textures on the map? i can't see the where to place planes and vehicles on the ramp, or where the helipads are. I find I end up placing static objects on hills too small to warrant a contour line as well. If there is a way around it, I haven't found it. NSDQ
Guest Cayenne Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I save what I have and then "FLY" the mission..as soon as it loads I press left ctrl+F11 and slew to get a proper view. Tree lines are obscure also. Shame that the in-flight map is better than the ME map. Yet another wip?
Ghostmooner Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 yeah, i can't even tell what i'm looking at, no idea whats a mountain, or a valley, its al just random lines and colors to me. i really need to be able to toggle that to see the real ground like a satilite photo overlay or something.
Guest Cayenne Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 this might help a little.---->http://topomaps.usgs.gov/ I am a map freak and even though the contour lines and other symbology is hard to see zoomed in, it is quite accurate to the in-game terrain. A legend would help but I guess they assume since You are interested in a modern combat simulator You should be waaaay past understanding chart symbology. Another wip. The topo maps available while zoomed(EXP 1 & 2) in on the TAD would be nice for planning in the ME. Hmm now that I think about it there are many good maps built into this sim just not for the ME. It would be really nice if it were a true 3D GUI with drag and drop capabilities. I'm taking baby steps and wishing for conventional mouse functionality that was introduced into every PC back in the late 80s'....
Kaiza Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Yeah this is an issue with the mission editor that I believe people have been asking for a remedy for since LockOn. slug88 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Yeah this is an issue with the mission editor that I believe people have been asking for a remedy for since LockOn. Err no. In Lock On there was a satellite view. They took it out when they implemented the new mission editor in Black Shark and FC2, and haven't put it back in yet. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 The quickest method I've come across is use of the the Multiplayer client to load any changes in the mission you are working on in the Singleplayer GUI (They can be open at the same time) So, save your mission and ALT-TAB and load it in the Multiplayer client running in the background. Laud Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 But the question why the map-view options have been reduced for the ME remains. Same goes for the question wether it will be available again sometime in the future. The workaround is kinda annoying... while it could be so much more simple...
