Hi,

I'm playing the On The Other Side mission from the Deployment campaign. I'm hovering in front of the enemy area, though I can't spot any enemies.

My wingmen have detected targets "at 1 oclock", as they say, but I cannot locate those targets myself. How can I tell my wingman to send me the coordinates or whatever, so I could know exactly where those enemies are? I mean, it's no use saying "there's an enemy somewhere in front of us, a bit to the right".

Check out the Reconnaissance functions on the Comms Menu

Back-slash \ to bring up the Menu

F2 - to choose the Wingman

F6 and then a distance to send him - to have him move forward (even 1km) and Recce Scan and give you the target information in your Datalink. You need to be in the direction you are going to be sending him. You see him as a red circle on your ABRIS

Then you'll receive the targets with the Datalink Panel(on the Overhead Panel) - hit the Send/Mem button to store it - they'll show up on the ABRIS

Did it last night - and then sent him after the target

After I receive a Datalink transmission, how do I deal with it? I get 2 flashing buttons on the Datalink, but how do I make the Shkval follow the info or add the target to the ABRIS?

May be a couple of extra button pushes in here but its the way i do it IIRC

First its a good idea to save target. Press mem

Then i press schkval reset.

If you are in a hover, ensure you have auto turn to target pressed.

on the datalink panel ensure your target is chosen (if its a vehicle press vehicle button) ensure it shows up as a flashing icon on ABRIS

Press uncage schvkal and it should put you on target or very close to target.

Lock lase and shoot.

There is a very good dev video diary that describes this as well for you to watch.

Thanks, I'll write it down somewhere. BTW, I assume you are reffering to the producer's note on Datalink. I already watched it once or twice, but due to rarely ever using the Datalink, I forgot how to operate it.

No problem.

Datalink is a very useful tool. I only fly online so it comes into its own there.

Just a few tips for use online (if you have the time).

Make sure you ask if someone wants a datalink target. If only one person wants it, just ask them or confirm their datalink number and send info to only that number.

That way people won't be spammed with loads of datalink.

I do see people flying with datalink off for this reason. (which is a shame as it really is a useful tool and can help all players with situational awareness)

Also i forgot to mention. Make sure you are on the correct frequency

Honestly, bogusheadbox, I never got to really play the MP part of BS.

It just doesn't work for me.

Either the pings are too high (300 or more), or the game fails to connect a server. Not to mention there are only a few dozen servers, most of which are locked anyway...

i had that problem with 1.02,but get this i could connect to a server in china or somewhere in asia. when i tried to connect to a server in europe(i live in europe) i couldn't connect to any of them. it told me client ping time out!!! i think it's their servers and not me,i got tired of 1.02 and when back to 1.00.

Well lets hope that a A-10 compatability patch is not too far away. You should see a lot of servers popping up then.
