hog_driver111th Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hey Gents (and any ladies lurking in the background), I'm not really up to speed on my cockpit, but my design phase is getting there. Does anyone know where I can get plug and play instruments (Airspeed, VVI, Alt...) or know if buying from like simkits.com and changing the faceplate would work within the warthog? I know the Altimeter would be tough, but I've seen someone on viperpits make one... only thing is, they don't respond to my requests for information. Also... my main reason for this topic, if I were to get a couple 5" tft-lcd displays even if they only have the yellow video in port (my PC has the video jacks), can I use them as separate monitors for putting the HSI or ADI from Helios on them... and if I were to get a small 3.5" monitor for the RWR, would that even be possible? I know helios is an awesome program, but I want to build my front panel to look as real as possible, without it all coming from a monitor. I have absolutely no clue how to build instruments or aircores or... I do have an idea on making an eHSI with a bezel and knobs, but pulling the data from the Warthog and placing it on the 5" monitor... no clue. A-10C - FC3 - CA - L-39 - UH1 - P-51 - Hawk - BS2 - F-86 - Gazelle - F-5E - AV8B - F/A-18C i5-4590 - GTX 1060 - Oculus CV1 - TM:Warthog [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic9979_1.gif[/sIGPIC]
Avilator Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 You can find instructions for moving in-cockpit displays to another monitor in this thread:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70716. However, I have no idea about hardware. I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" HitchHikingFlatlander Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I plan to go the Helios route with a monitor providing all avionic gauges. I know thats not what your looking for but it's gotta be the easiest cost effective solution. And with multiple small monitors you'll be at the mercy of complexity! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
