HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C

I have a strange problem:

I had played with HT for some time and everything worked. After a few months I want to play again and now it don't work. When I click a button in HT, the wrong key is sent to DCS. I have assigned keys with modifiers in the xml, but for instance if I press the button with RCTRL RALT 0, DCS gets the key command L.

my xml seems to be ok.

There is a lot of potential for its use with Flaming Cliffs 3.... I'm gonna start making a Su25T profile as i see this being very helpful with regards to imitating a clickable cockpit...

Hey Tommy,

 

It's funny, I've just bought P-51D yesterday and was thinking of extending HawgTouch to support all DCS World products.

 

 

To make it compatible with DCS World, minor changes are required. I'm also thinking of creating the gauges for P-51D.

 

 

I'm still waiting on FC3 to come out so I can support this aswell. Hopefully we'll have all of them supported eventually :)

Personally i don't use the 'gauges' side.. but always use the clickable overlays..

 

I assumed this side of HawgTouch will work fine with DCS World as it stands.. am i correct in this assumption?

You are correct. The clickable overlays will work without a problem!

And regarding rotaries..are the current state switches not enough? What type of rotaries were you thinking about?

I made a Abris overlay for BlackShark but could never manage to make the rotaries work..

 

A typical rotary button in cockpit is manipulated via mouse wheel.. but i've never managed to emulate this with HawgTouch..(by holding the button down to give repeated keystrokes)

I hope the above link / post explains what i'm on about.

I haven't pined the problem down yet but some commands like {LCONTROL}{LSHIFT}2 do not seem to register. Some modifiers seem to get ignored. :(

When I was setting up the radio I found that some of the keys had different control types assigned & I had to go into the config file and change them to get the Hawgtouch input to work. I'm sure I posted a reference in this thread, I'll see what I can find and link

Thanks mate, so you have found {RSHIFT} does not work too. Good to know, i PM ClearDark regarding this, he said he would check it, i'm waiting for him to get back to me.

 

I ran into a load of modifiers being ignored in DCS World when combined.. i need to go through my profiles and figure out what is and is not working right now. Major PITA.

I have the same problem but with version 1.1.1.1. The rockswitch down streerpoint working with the rudder pedal right, rockswitch DATA works with the left rudder pedal. I understand it and you? : (

In HT1.5 would anyone have any profiles they have built using the MFCD's with a selection of gauges for the A10 that would happen to fit 1280x1024 touch screen.

 

Being a rookie at this I have no idea where to start with making my own.

I have just loaded the A10 and started to prepare my CH profile for the game when I came across this thread on Hawgtouch. As a novice computer user, all I want to do is put some of the gauges (without the MFD's) on a second monitor attached to my computer.

 

Could someone provide me with simple instructions as to how to do that? I have so far read about 20 pages on of this thread and most of them deal with running Hawgtouch on a second computer and not a second monitor so I am a little confused.

Running HawgTouch on a second PC

Many thanks to NU-NRG and yargon for their excellent writeups!

 

Quick Setup Guide:

 

MASTER SETUP (Where A-10C is running)

Open A10Dir\Config\Export\Export.lua with a text editor

Change the IP address 127.0.0.1 to the "slave" machine. ie 192.168.0.12 and save the file.

SLAVE SETUP (192.168.0.12)

 

Download and extract HawgTouch anywhere. Make sure Gauge Pack is present. Do not open HawgTouch yet.

Open HawgTouch.exe.config with a text editor. You need to bind the local machine LAN IP here. So either type 0.0.0.0 to make the binding automatic type in 192.168.0.12. One of these should work.

Launch HawgTouch and load the profile containing the gauges

Launch A-10C on MASTER

Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply. However, perhaps I wasn't clear in my request. I am running only one computer with two monitors and not two computers.

 

Also, how do I get the CDU panel from Tmahring into the regular Hawgtouch file (whichever one that is)?

So to recap In Hawg Server mode. The Computer hosting the Sim + Hawg Touch in Server mode revices key strokes from the second computer that is running hawg touch in Client Mode, which is displaying the Gauges and Panels... is this correct?

Yeah i have one.. been waiting fro Clear Dark to get back to me on a couple of issues.. but that does not look like happening.

 

Mine works.. for the most part. But i have not tested in in 1.2.0.

Ok I got this to work now. With Moving Gauges but for some reason they only render when they are placed onto the main screen view of my multi-monitor setup.

 

Ok so I have everything setup, Multimonitor Set the MFCD Panels Up and Sized them to the correct Size to fit into the Bezels... I launched Hawg Touch as ADMIN... Enabled DATA EXPORT MODE... verified the Export.lua was Backed up by the program.. and Set the Keyboard Maps IN the SIM Like Tut Says... LCTL + 1 etc.... Launched Hawg Touch In Local Mode and data export was enabled... Launched the Sim... and gauges appear not to receive data from sim, when they are moved to my second monitor, any ideas why this is...? Are gauges only supposed to be run off of a second computer?

 

Found one problem...

FOUND I didn't Have my joystick plugged in when I mapped all the KEYS so they got unbinded when I relaunched the game with the Joystick connected! anyway...

 

Gauges STILL don't receive data from the sim when moved over to second monitor any ideas?

IF RUNNING HAWG TOUCH IN LOCAL LAUNCH MODE... SIM MUST BE Launched IN WINDOWED MODE!

CAN NOT RUN LOCAL MODE in full screen! I unchecked full screen yes huge frame rate drop but only because SoftTH not working.

Its a Very Nice Program ClearDark thanks to all for helping creating it too. Just need FAQ section at beggining of both threads for this.

Alternatives would be buying Thrustmaster MFCD Button Panels and Sticking them to your monitor.

 

My preference would be to run this program on separate Machine so you don't lose FPS! Problem is Not sure if you can export MFCD displays from A10C to a second computer thats also running HawgTouch in Client mode without the FPS sacrifice.

It would work very well for Gauges on a second PC... Great Program Needs more info....or faq section in First Post of both threads

THE Windows Application used to setup interface for IPAD to connect.

You Don't need an IPAD to use the FREE Windows tool that they make,

but it makes it very easy and it works great, to stretch MFCD displays and update DCS scripts For Multimonitor or HawgTouch MFCD resizing very intuitive.

thoes to sections would be nice to have in FAQ's for Noobs...:)

 

To some this may have been obvious for others plz update first posts, great program thx:)
