vtsgoose1606687932 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) Hey guys, I am planning on buying myself a rudder set. The problem however is wich to choose. At the moment i have my eyes on the 2 saitek rudders. Saitek combat rudder pedals: http://www.simw.com/index.php/pro-flight-combat-rudder-pedals.html And the normal rudder pedals: http://www.simw.com/index.php/pro-flight-rudder-pedals.html If i read the 2 discriptions i see that the combat pedals adds the independent left and right brake axis and part metal construction etc. Does this mean if set up correctly ingame braking works like in a car? Does this also means the normal pedals only has full or no brake? Like a button? I am also concerned about the comfortable level of both pedals, specialy the foot pads of the combat version. do i need to put my shoes on when using them? And finaly are the combat pedals worth the extra buck? If someone could enlighten me wich one to get and why. Thx in advance, Goose Edited April 10, 2011 by vtsgoose [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://virtual-aerobatic-group.nl/
Succellus Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 There s ot much of a diference as the core is the same. The combat have a superior charm and the toe brake. Thats it. To me, the construction and quality of movement are just as important as the sensors inside. (To a point.) The Combat Pedals are a great improvement on saitek's other product.
Bvoiash Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I have the pro flight rudder pedals (not the combat one) and no, the left and right brakes don't act like buttons. They are both axis. Though you can make them act as buttons if you want to using the programming software. Also so far I find it comfortable using them with my bare feet. And yes when set up accordingly the brakes work just like the ones in cars. Can't comment on the combat one sorry as I have never tried it myself.
vtsgoose1606687932 Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) Thx for the replies so far. Beaker, based on your comment you own the combat rudder? If not is there anyone here on the forum who has the combat one and could tell their experience with it? Edited April 11, 2011 by vtsgoose [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://virtual-aerobatic-group.nl/

Snoopy Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I've got the combat pedals and love them. That being said, it's the first set of pedals I've ever owned so I can't compare to anything. I did have to adjust the curve because how sensitive they are but once I did that have no complaints! v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
