Someone told me, that the new combat rudder pedals from Saitek, are the same than the old one, the inside parts are the same, the only different thing, is the external that is metal.

 

Is this true?

AFAIK yes, the main difference are the metal parts and that the toe break angle can be adjusted. The innards are the same.

I have Both, Seems the combat pedals are better, As far as Feel and adjustment!!! It's a matter of Money between the two..Cheers, Jim

I have the old model. One obvious difference might be that with the old model, you have to keep your feet "in the air" (with the heels rested upon the bottom protrusion of the pedals) which feels weird to me. On the Combat Rudders, it seems that you might get away with resting them on the pedal base and move them while keeping the heels on the base? Can any owner of the Combat model please confirm this?

 

I think this would provide me with a much better stance than with the older model where I feel unstable because I'm weaving about in the chair while my feet are on the pedals because I can't rely on them enough without producing unwanted input. This might not be an issue if I had a chair which was more stable (e.g. not on wheels :) ), but still.
