moonbeast Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 just wondering If ( a big IF ) ED have made a clickable pit for 1.2 will it be compatible with TrackIR as ive heard that that clickable pits for F4 AF is not compatible with TrackIR could someone please enlighten me on the subject as it would be a shame if it wasnt supported as I will be buying 1.2 ASAP as soon as its out on the market but will be dissapointed if the above is not supported thanks moonbeast
GGTharos Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I'll give ya a hint. Actually, two. 1. F4AF is OLD stuff, bugfixed. TIR was an afterthought. 2. The F4AF clickable pit is 2D! There will be no 2D pits in LOMAC. Does that help? ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
112th_Rossi Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I've always found clickable pits a bit of a novelty. MSFS is the only simulator that has pulled it off well.
Rastus Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 There will be no 2D pits in LOMAC. Good. A clickable pit is nice for customising complex avionics but not if it takes away from the overall gameplay & immersion. F4 pits are a classic example of what not to do. The 2D pit is a pain with Tir, & the gauges dont work in the 3D. I have to agree with Rossi that MSFS is the only 3D clickable pit (so far) that works well with Track IR. I would much rather go without the clickable's unless it was very well integrated.
Arizona Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Moonbeast, Do you have a TrackIR? I can not imagine trying to click on cockpit buttons using the mouse with the trackir following my head. Especially with the vector expansion. I just set mine up this weekend and I'm still getting used to it, and I think I've got it set to where I need it. The default was way to sensitive for me... It is pretty cool to track items with my head - especially helos... Arizona
